Guster's Last Stand

Quote:It's not about the INT'S and fumble. It's about bad use of timeouts and challenges. Players not lining up in the right place. Not being able to block on a field goal. Simple things we can't get right. how many challenges were thrown today?

The problem is the next 6 and 7 of the last 8 games are against teams in the playoff hunt.
At Cincinnati Vs. Dallas in London At Indianapolis Doubful they win either of those three. 1-10 And then Vs. NY Giants Vs. Houston At Baltimore Many win one of those. Maybe Vs. Tennessee At Houston Maybe beat Tennessee Can Gus save his job at 2-14?
I can't see Khan sitting back and not changing anything. Maybe Fisch is the sacrificial lamb. Who knows.
If the team only wins one or two games I could see Bradley getting fired. Quote:Could today be Bradley's Little Bighorn?I'm guessing next year will be make or break for him. If the team is 1-7 this time next year the seat will be very hot. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Could today be Bradley's Little Bighorn? NOPE You've figured out all the things in the opposite direction. The coaching was actually very good. We outplayed the Dolphins. We lost because of our rookie QB. It has nothing more to do with reality than that
Quote:I'm guessing next year will be make or break for him. If the team is 1-7 this time next year the seat will be very hot. Dude, if next year we're 2-2 I'll be going Captain Insano on this MB. I actually have a really good feeling that we are about to go for a huge run. I don't think people realize how close we are to becoming elite. This game showed me something I didin't expect. But I'm happy to see it Our D is dominat Shoelace is a very good RB. Our WRs are better than we've had in ages. And they are just rookies!!! We're gonna be the monsters of the AFCS. It's just a matter of BB5 figuring out some stuff. Let's be honest. BB5 is a rookie and he's very very raw. He's a dummy. But I think he's about to figure some stuff out. But it won't be this year. Next year is gonna be balls to the wall
I don't know what's going on inside that stadium, as to what Dave and Shad are thinking. Personally, I wouldn't cut ties with Gus yet. I also only caught today's game from the middle of the 3rd quarter to the end, so I can't (and won't) place any blame on anybody for today's loss.
That said, from what I did see of Gus today, this game reminded me of Mularkey's Thursday Night Game against the Colts. It definitely looked like Gus reached, or is coming very close to reaching, his boiling point. Today was really the first time I've seen Gus so angry. It reminds me of that TNF game where Mularkey, who had been completely emotionless on the sideline all season, stormed the field and tossed his headset and clipboard. That was the game where Gabbert was benched for Henne, and the next week Henne solidified his spot as starter for the rest of the season. Obviously I'm not suggesting that Gus is going to bench Bortles for Henne. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing some changes though. It seems like even Gus might be losing patience. Whether that's from pressure being exerted on him from Dave and/or Shad, or just himself beginning to feel like his job is unsafe, I don't know. But we may very well look back on this game in a season or two or five as the defining moment of Gus' tenure in Jacksonville, much like MM's tossing of his headset + clipboard and benching of the "franchise QB" he was brought in specifically to take to the next level. Or we might look back on this game as the turning point in Gus' tenure. Or it might be a completely forgotten about blip on the radar. Only time will tell. But after seeing Gus' uncharacteristic anger on the sideline today, I'm very interested in seeing how he, and the team in general, respond next week. Should be an interesting week.

But he keeps getting a free pass because the majority here were howling for Hennes head and to put him in. His performance so far is what the coaches said...he isn't ready. But to make something out of nothing they threw him in. Now its on them. Win games with him, or be held accountable. A similar result as last year is unacceptable. Having a gunslinger is just peachy. Sometimes gunslingers get killed. Sure...he may be a stud down the line. For now? He's a slow learner. He owes the D an apology. He cost the game. They won without him last week and lost because of him this week. Anything else is teal shade syndrome. Then again....just wait till next year, and for now, the who do we draft threads are already rearing their head. Deja Vu.

BORTLES will turn it around.
He said it himself in the post game.. He's killing us and needs to fix it
Quote:The problem is the next 6 and 7 of the last 8 games are against teams in the playoff hunt. Just don't expect many, if any, wins for the rest of the season and you will not be disappointed. It will be a tough task to match last seasons record of 4-12, with the way the Jags look right now on offense.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:I can't see Khan sitting back and not changing anything. Maybe Fisch is the sacrificial lamb. Who knows. Yeah, I see somebody getting let go if the Jags only manage another win or 2 also, but it definitely won't be Gus, or the DC.

Gus was gun shy on throwing that challenge flag a couple times because of some bloopers he's had with it. He's like Gabbert now with the flag because he failed so much and hurt the team. I always hear that come November the rookies are longer that because they've played enough games by now to be accustomed to the professional game. Can't keep using that excuse that much longer.

Do you realize how stupid you sound?
If you dont think there will be major changes after a 2 win season, idk what to tell you. Waiting to see some positives from blake, but so far we just have preseason, and a half at san diego of good play.

Not his fault we missed the kick. Quote:The last few minutes of the titans game was good play for him. Not his fault we missed the kick.He came in and moved the offense well against the colts. Too bad we were already 30 points in the hole. Quote:The last few minutes of the titans game was good play for him. Not his fault we missed the kick. So 2 halves? |
