correct me if I'm wrong....but didn't he die pretty much from his own stupidity with the accident that resulted from his road rage??? Excuse me if I don't have much empathy here. He'd still be alive today if he had some self control.

Although I completely agree nothing is funny about someone losing his life too early by driving drunk, I understand the meaning of the joke: the Titans as a team is as good as dead.

 

A better way to express it is this line: "How are the Titans like a possum? They play dead at home and get killed on the road." Oh wait, Bironas killed himself on the road.

Not road rage, just drinking way too much and getting behind the wheel. It was a single-car accident.

 

I doubt anybody in his family is thinking about that. They probably think he was a smart man who made a big mistake.
