Please enlighten me on what promises he's "mostly kept" for you.

Lol. He won't answer you. He's probably one of the millions that lost his coverage bc of Obama care. But no matter what, the great one could do no wrong.

To be perfectly honest, I don't care what he thinks has been kept in terms of Obama's promises.  The joke that is ACA trumps any positive Obama has done so far.

The guy made hundreds of promises.  He promised hope, change, etc.  Well at this point all I hope for is a change in presidency.

Unfortunately a change in presidency won't matter with the current system and government.

If the Lions aren't the team that wins the 2016,  2017, etc. Super Bowl,  I would be very happy if Blake Bortles and his teammates are being greeted in the White House by President Ted Cruz!   That would be a definition of change for the better!

You should be ashamed of yourself for likening him to such an utter failure.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

It had to be done. It speaks to the deep rifts in our country when a thread featuring a clever graphic will inevitably turn into a platform for soapboxes. Our collective sense of humor has been beaten into submission by a bad government and a bad team.

Can I adopt this as my sig?

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

What has Obama done to make you so angry about him? And what do you think the republican would have done better/different?

For me it's not the 'promises' he kept, or didn't keep, it's everything else. I voted for him in '08 because I thought he was the lesser of two evils at the time and some of his policies I agreed with or could live with. He has to be THE worst president in my lifetime, and I was born in '72. He's a charismatic guy and that's what got him elected, but he has no character. At all.

I'm not a fan of Romney's but I don't think he would've fumbled this ISIS mess as bad as Obama has. I also don't believe Romney would've pushed the Affordable Care Act mess at the national level. Other then that they're pretty much the same.

I've always been under the impression that he only wanted to be elected but didn't want the job.  My brother described him best: "He's 10 feet wide and an inch deep."

How can you think Obama is worse than Dubya? How is that even a thing? One could make the argument that he was the worst president of all time. Ever.

He let 911 happen. He tanked the economy. Destroyed the surplus, created a huge deficit. Invaded Iraq for absolutely no credible reason. Lied to the public about the reason to go to war. Unable to formulate complete sentences. The no child left behind act, which was uniformly villified. He destroyed our right to privacy.

What has Obama done that is remotely as bad as that?

I share in your distaste for bush but Obama is bush on steriods.

You had Bush destroying privacy under the patriot act well Obama doubles down with the ndaa.

You had Bush cripple education with no child left behind well Obama doubles down with common core.

You had Bush bailing out Wall Street with deficient spending once again Obama doubles down.

The two are so identical it drives me crazy people support the one and hate the other.

I'm not angry about him, I don't hate him, I don't hate anyone.

I dislike our entire political system, Democrat, Republican and anything in between.  They all are more of a problem than a solution and will continue to be so.

Our whole system needs an overhaul.

I can't stand political parties.  They don't bring anyone or anything together, they separate and push things apart.  It's like swimming upstream in a [BLEEP] creek.

Obama = Bush = Romney = McCain = any other candidate we've had to choose from.  They all would have/have been poor decisions at president.  When it comes to Bush and Obama, at least Bush had a set when it comes to policy/defense.

Obama is a wimp and the whole world knows it.

Obamacare is a joke, don't even get me wound up on that.

No, Obama hasn't done enough to roll back domestic spying, the militarization of the police, etc stemming from the Patriot Act. But he didn't start that fire either. And I'm not sure anyone is going to have the political capital or stones to go up against the military industrial corporate complex to make any real change there.

The no child left behind act was panned by educators; it was objectively bad. The pushback on common core curriculum is clearly partisan and not an argument against its effectiveness. It's equivalent to the outcry against obamacare--all partisan, all from the right, only because it's got Obama's name on it and for no other reason.

Obama saved the economy that Bush nearly destroyed.

"One year after the stimulus, several independent macroeconomic firms, including Moody's and IHS Global Insight, estimated that the stimulus saved or created 1.6 to 1.8 million jobs and forecast a total impact of 2.5 million jobs saved by the time the stimulus is completed.[80] The Congressional Budget Office considered these estimates conservative.[80] The CBO estimated according to its model 2.1 million jobs saved in the last quarter of 2009, boosting the economy by up to 3.5 percent and lowering the unemployment rate by up to 2.1 percent.[81] The CBO projected that the package would have an even greater impact in 2010.[81] The CBO also said, "It is impossible to determine how many of the reported jobs would have existed in the absence of the stimulus package."[82] The CBO's report on the first quarter of 2010 showed a continued positive effect, with an employment gain in that quarter of up to 2.8 million and a GDP boost of up to 4.2 percent.[83]"

Furthermore,

"The CBO also revised its assessment of the long-term impact of the bill. After 2014, the stimulus is estimated to decrease output by zero to 0.2%. The stimulus is not expected to have a negative impact on employment in any period of time.[89]

In 2011, the Department of Commerce revised some of its previous estimates. Economist Dean Baker commented:

[T]he revised data ... showed that the economy was plunging even more rapidly than we had previously recognised in the two quarters following the collapse of Lehman. Yet, the plunge stopped in the second quarter of 2009 — just as the stimulus came on line. This was followed by respectable growth over the next four quarters. Growth then weakened again as the impact of the stimulus began to fade at the end of 2010 and the start of this year. In other words, the growth pattern shown by the revised data sure makes it appear that the stimulus worked. The main problem would seem to be that the stimulus was not big enough and it wasn't left in place long enough to lift the economy to anywhere near potential output.[90]"

So no, Obama is not bush on steroids. I do agree that in an ideal world he would be able to do more about our fundamental rights being eroded but I don't think he wants to be Kennedy'd and I can't blame him for that.
