monroe versus Joeckel

Quote:I keep hearing an excuse that Monroe was gone, his contract was up. Good players get new contracts, and there is always a franchise tag, so there is no hard factual evidence he could not be resigned. The fact is we had two left tackles which seemed to play into it more than money.Ok, you're right. FIRE CALDWELL NOW!!!! We show less advertisements to registered users. Old news IMO. Eugene looked better than Joeckel for a few games there, but I'm more concerned about this Beadles character than Monroe or Joeckel at this point.
And another "excuse" the OP may have forgotten (I skimmed) is the ZBS scheme fit. Many have speculated Caldwell wanted Joeckel for that reason as well. I'd also wait and see how Colvin and Smith turn out before calling them ham sammiches. Caldwell appears capable of mining players late in the draft and UDFA - so that particular jury is still out. Smith showed some impressive snap anticipation and explosion in preseason and many expect Colvin to be a starter as soon as week 12 of this season. We'll see if either pan out to be solid starters/contributors. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Old news IMO. THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I don't think that Joeckel is a bust. I think that he will go on to be a very good player. he has the feet and that's what counts. I do however think that people get way too over hyped with this you can't pay a left tackle right tackle money thing.
1.) You can't win if you're QB is on the ground or on IR. 2.) If Austin Pasztor comes back and plays at a pro bowl level, then he is going to have to be paid as a top tackle regardless. 3.) these guys are hard enough to find, I hate the idea of letting one of them go. 4.) This isn't bashing Caldwell, this is disagreeing with Caldwell, there is a difference.
Hey everybody in the famous words of Aaron Rogers relax. Matt Kalil a probowl left tackle who is in his 3rd year as a left tackle has already given up 4 sacks while luke joeckel only given up 1.5 so he'll be fine because he's essentially like a rookie all over again.
