Winston Guy released?

Quote:I think it goes to show how many holes were left on this team from the previous guy. Winston was not a drafted player by this team. He was filling yet another hole. Quite terribly might I add. He can hit though

As I will not discount this statement because it's somewhat valid, you have to look at the overall body of work. I'm not going to list all the FA acquisitions but it's not looking good so far. What are they saving all this money for?

Quote:They seriously wont release Guy. But he may lose his starting spot. He blew some coverages the last 3 games in very bad ways.

If his the offender then I would think they'd cut him. It sounds like a Prosinski type of ineptitude out there. Who cares how hard you hit or can run. If you are constantly out of posistion then what good are you?

Filling the hole when Lowery was cut. I think that was a big downgrade, although Lowery is injured a lot.

Lowery had a bad concussion injury. There's "holes" that this regime created, but in that case, I don't blame them.

Oh I agree "the body of work on the field" as Gus puts it is horrible. But I have to use my football self for this one and not my fan self. The jaguars as a franchise have been rather pedestrian for quite some time but this group of people just got here. I have to give them the time to see what they can accomplish.

We all know why team like the raiders and Brown's continue to be horrible; because they change coaches and philosophies every year. I don't want that for this team. If that mean a 2-3 more years than so be. But at some point you have to buckle down and take you lumps and build it right.

I can't prove it but I do believe that what these guys are trying to do. They just need the time.

I believe Lowery began to be concussion prone in 2012 IIRC.

He does have an issue holding on to the ball but so does Cecil. That's not to say they don't cut him. What will probably finally push him out the door is that he's also arguably the slowest of our wide outs.

Gus likes him supposedly because he always runs the correct route but once our more talented guys get the offense down pat, that probably won't be enough to keep him around.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

He played well for Atlanta this year before another injury, non-concussion I believe.

Agree. The Jags just have too many better receivers. Brown is also doing a solid but not spectacular job fielding punts. He won't be cut until Sanders is back and capable of handling the punt return duties.

I agree. But I feel that he is a "pure athelete" none the less and we just dont have too many of those on the field.

If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts

That's true too but the guy was drafted by Seattle. All he knows is this system. If he can't run it and he's been in it the last 3 years that's a problem.

It was actually another concussion.

Lowery and Landry where perfectly fine options at FS and SS, the mess in the secondary is all on Caldwell.

Lowery couldn't stay on the field and Cyp> Landry

wut?

You're joking right?

Lowery is about to be replaced at FS in Atlanta.

Landry is an older player and I'll take Cyp over him all day.

I don't know. Lowery just was concussion prone so I get that one. Landry is pretty good but he was older and was getting paid a grip. Not sure if his play warranted the pay. I think I'd rather have Cyp than Landry at this point although I see the argument.

Of course I'd rather have a young Cyp than an older Landry. The point I'm making is the secondary was the first unit we decided to address when Caldwell came in, it wasn't the best unit on our team but it wasn't the worse either. The mess in the secondary is on Caldwell at this point.

Our problems are not really on the safeties. The corners are playing too far off and the front 7 are not stopping anyone so the safeties are cheating up to help stop the run.
