And The Hits Just Keep on Coming

#21

Anyone who thinks Tebow will play any position other than QB obviously never read his book. I picked it up on the sale rack at a bookstore and the guy was adamant about being quarterback. Period. He played a few different positions in high school but only because he had to or he wouldn't be on the team IIRC. I think he would make a good TE after learning the position, but if he doesn't care then neither do I.

Quote:I'm not big on the 'conspiracy theory' stuff, but this rash of receiver injuries is starting to smell a little fishy... especially since they are of the type injury (hamstring) that is difficult to diagnose. Do these guys not want to play or what???

-3-4 days a week strength and conditioning + practice + being on the field for a majority of the offensive snaps on gameday

-incorporating heavy weight low rep leg exercises immediately followed by explosive lower body movements + sprints/medium distance slow paced running + stretching

Hamstrings are very easy to pull and tear, expecially from sprinters.  In professional football, a game that is run 90% of the time at full speed, it's hard to believe that it doesn't happen more often.

We use our legs so much everyday to workout or even to get from point "a" to point "b", these guys are using their's 5x that amount.

And the assumption that he would make a good TE why?  He is slow and not explosive.  He would be great somehow.

Why not just run the Tackle eligible play all day?

Yeah. Let's bring in a guy whose career and life ends on one play.

He's an idiot if he even considers playing.

I think he's an idiot then. I remember him saying he wanted to play. He got clearance with a "you shouldn't" warning.

And then no NFL team wanted him.

IIRC.

Well if that's the case...yes he's an idiot. And I'm sure there's no GM in the league that wants that hanging over their heads.

Big Sofa is still here in town, and living up to that nickname more than ever.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What about Dustin Keller? He should be serviceable right?

I suppose he is an idiot then.

I don't fault him for it. Dude grew up playing and loving football. Sometimes that is hard to give up.

Look at Welker... how many concussions will he take before he calls it quits? He should save his brain while he still can. But he's an idiot. He wants the money. He wants to play. Can't really fault him for that.

That all being said... I don't want a TE that is one play away from a forced retirement. The ones we have can't seem to be healthy as it is.

Adding those two beasts to Marcel Jensen would definitely give us the best TE lineup in the league. Definitely.

Well, it couldn't be worse than having only one active TE that isn't injured!
