8:00 PMNo. 12 UCLA vs. Texas*

Disappointing season so far for two schools who had big expectations.

I would love to see UCLA win in a blowout just to hear 80k Texas fans boo.

I watched part of that Texas / BYU game.  Trailing 34-0, Texas got a 1st down with 3:45 left in the 3rd Qtr. and there was a loud sarcastic cheer coming from the stands   It's bad down there.   Not sure if Ash would have made a difference but their current QB situation is terrible.

Pitt's team is young.  Next year should be their year as Voytik, Boyd, and RB James Conner all return.   Conner is 6'2" 232 pounds.  He wants to play DE as well (HA !!)  -- Getting into the top 20 this year and top 10 next year would be fine with me.  Starting to see that Univ. of Wisconsin style hitting Pitt.

Next 5 games --- FIU, Iowa (home), Akron, @Virginia,  VaTech (home)

Love the way Conner plays. I think him and Jarret Jack are two of the most entertaining players to watch in NCAA right now.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

You know what sucks?

Not knowing the day this thread is created which games I can watch. The links AmeliasIsland posted are only good for NFL games until Thursday.

You know what doesn't suck?

Knowing Ohio State's next opponent is Kent State, so winning will be much easier.

They looked good at BC. It seems like Pitt usually has a good RB or WR but rarely at the same time.

Can someone explain this to me? It looks like Kent State at Ohio State and Boise State at Connecticut are both nationally televised on two TV networks. I don't see any of the ot her 12:00 games on the ESPN.com TV coverage maps. Most people expect a blowout in one game and don't care about the other, so this does not make sense to me at all.

because depending on where you live one of those games will be on ABC and the other on ESPN2.  Every week ABC and ESPN does this.  Theyll put the more local game on ABC so you dont have to have cable to watch it.

Usually when they do that and Ohio State's opponent is terrible, the Buckeyes are not televised down here.

Now here is what's really weird: Alaska and Hawaii get KSU/OSU on ABC. Go figure.

Georgia Southern at GaTech - I would LOVE to see the Eagles take down Tech.  Interesting matchup for a bunch of reasons.  First Paul Johnson was coaching in Statesboro before Atlanta(with a stop at Navy in between).  Southern had been running the same triple option for years up until this season.  So their defense is very familiar with it having practiced against it for years.  Southern coulda shoulda won at NC State earlier this year so theyve got a decent squad.  I'm hoping it'll be a good game and really hoping for an upset.  I also really like Southern's old school looking uni's with the numbers on the helmet.  (i still cant stand the Jags new uni's).

Georgia Southern just took the lead in the 4th quarter!  They were down 35-10 at half but have stormed all the way back.  Now up 38-35.  Tech hasnt scored in the 2nd half.

I actually got stuck in traffic for this game earlier this morning.  Lots of folks driving up from Statesboro for this!

Ohio State actually punted. It seemed like I would never see the punter for more than three quarters.

I was mad at the guy who fumbled on his way to the end zone after someone else blocked Kent State's punt. That would have been a highlight reel touchdown. So I wanted OSU to score another TD in the third quarter just to make up for the one they should have had on the blocked punt.

So much for Virginia Tech being ranked.

Anytime a team beats the #8 team on the road, it deserves to be ranked.

Do you expect the Hokies to drop out again?

Yes I do.

So if a team was 0-4 and managed to beat OSU at home when they were ranked #8, you'd put them in the top 25?

But they weren't 0-4 when that happened. You can worry about that in Week 5.

That's not the point.

You can't say anytime a team beats the #8 team at home they should be ranked. That's not true.

Did asyone else see the right side of the Kent State helmets?

For about three quarters, I was totally convused about that because everybody fhad the number 54 on his helmet, but nobody had a #54 jersey.

The announcer finally explained it during the second half: It is a tribute to a teammate who died of leukemia at age 21.  Sad
