Good thing my favorite sport is college basketball and CFB falls below MLB and NFL for me.

 

 

Michigan Basketball, Michigan Hockey, Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Red Wings usually keep me happy year round. Gardner could never play another down and I wouldn't lose sleep at night.

Not trolling at all. I came across an article on Yahoo regarding Michigan's season and thought of this as reading it. You have no idea what a troll is and I stated, as requested, although not necessary why Gardner is terrible.


I will also now add based on games since then. In two relevant games this season, Notre Dame/Utah, Gardner has 6 turnovers and Michigan has failed to score an offensive touchdown. At least he's in the Big 10/11/12/13/14 so he can pad his stats a bit.

There should have been a better backup plan for garnder.


He is terrible. Can't read a defense, inaccurate arm, can't handle pressure, gets rattled easy.


Michigan needs to see what else they've got now.


Gardner is going undrafted unless he makes a position switch.

You realize that I've already conceded Gardner was not a good QB? I don't have a problem eating crow when I'm wrong about something, but a lot of others on this forum can't do that.

The issue with Michigan is no longer their current QB situation.   Being that the expectations for Michigan is to play for the opportunity for the National Title,  this season isn't going to truly be a success regardless of what transpires the rest of this season.   

 

The real issue is what does Michigan do to increase their chances of competing  for the National Title in future seasons?   Will they make a serious attempt to lure Jim Harbaugh back to the Big House?   If not,  or if Harbaugh elects to remain in the NFL,  what will be plan be?   It's hard to envision Michigan remaining on their current course.

Saturday's 16 point loss to Minnesota is tied for the 2nd largest loss for Michigan against the Golden Gophers since following the 1937 season.    Change is all but inevitable for this once great program.

After seeing Alabama's passing D shredded by Clint Tricket I'd hardly say they are without flaws. I do believe they're in the discussion, but clear cut is a stretch considering they've played 4 straight home games so far with the toughest being either West Virginia or Florida. We'll know a lot more this week after Ole Miss.

I wouldn't even say Alabama is. Their defense did not play well against West Virginia. Just like Oregon against Washington State and FSU against NC State. I don't think there is a "clear cut best team" this year.

 

We'll know more about Bama after they play Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State and A&M over the next month or so.

I actually really like Mississippi state too. West Virginia is actually a pretty good team.


What happened to the defense of every team in the nation?


Right now I think Alabama should be ranked number 1, I hate Florida state but because they're the reigning champs and undefeated you could make a case for them to stay number 1.


I don't really know who I'd rank 3rd or 4th. I know who will most likely be there, but I'm not sure I can tell you who the best 4 teams really are. I think there are at least 10 teams that could all be interchangeable right now.


And I actually would be more confident in saying that about Alabama if Florida actually had a quarterback.

That is who a bunch of Michigan fans think they will get. Just like last year Texas fans wanted guys like Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher and ended up with Charlie Strong.
