Early depth charts aren't set in stone.

Apparently, this one wasn't set by someone who had a clue compared to you.

Hurns has been solid, but he isn't really "special".

I cant recall him making any really difficult catches.  He just does what he needs to.  He catches the ball well, although with his body.  He has decent speed and knows the plays.  He is a solid guy.

Robinson, Lee, Shorts have big play ability.  They can leap and make the tough catches.

Hurns is a solid receiver.  Nothing more.  You're absolutely right that there are more talented receivers on this roster, including Shorts.

He could certainly develop into something more, but he's got a few hurdles to clear before that happens.  Like playing a snap or two in the regular season.

And didn't Lee bust already?

Quote:I thought Watson showed a little bit as a pass rusher...

surprised Reynolds is ahead.

I'm thinking Watson just hasn't had the reps given his injury while Reynolds is currently on the top of his game. I don't yet take this to mean they really feel Reynolds is better...rather, he's just more ready for week one.

I love Reynolds as well. Feel like he can be a solid LB with good athleticism for za. Watson can come in and rush the passer

Agree.

I think Watson looks good in his small sample size. But Reynolds hasn't been banged up and has played well too.

Quote:Robinson ahead of both Todman and Johnson...not bad for a guy that went through a significant position switch.

Quote:Agree.  He was the best of the bunch in the preseason.  Toddman was fairly unimpressive, and Johnson is a guy that's clearly a project.  At least Robinson showed some play making ability behind Gerhart, and we need that from one of the depth guys.

Quote:Happy to see D-Rob in that spot.  He clearly outperformed the other backs in pre-season.

So why wasn't Jordan Todman cut after the last preseason game? We don't need four running backs.

Lee already showed he will not be a bust. He was at the receiving end of the beautiful 57-yard touchdown pass against the Falcons. Smile

What is the Marqise Lee hate for? Eleven is just a number. The fact that previous Jaguars with that number included Reggie Williams and Blaine Gabbert means nothing.  Same is true for Ace Sanders wearing #18, previously worn by Matt Jones. We did not expect him to be a bust because of that. Actually, I like it because now we can turn around the #11 curse and have somebody wearing the number really be successful.

Todman has value as a receiving rb.

A bit of a suprise but Toddman performed so poorly during preseason it didnt shock me to much, especially considering how much they (Fisch) seem to love D-Rob and try to find a role for him on the offense.

Hurns being a shocker prior to preseason week 1, I dont think most wouldve had him as the #4WR on the Depth Chart.

Gerhart also has decent receiving skills.

Todman looks like a guy who is still trying to adjust to the speed of the game.

As of right now, that's spot on.  Nobody is saying Hurns won't develop.  That's just your idiotic myopia kicking in again.
