Who are the starting receivers week 1

#21

What's up with the anti-Sanders talk? Do you guys really think he is not as good as Mike Brown? If that was true, why do you think Ace was a starter and Mike was a backup last year?

Quote:Thats assuming the jaguars open up with 3 receivers on the field.

This is one of the weirdest things to try and guess because shorts could be in the slot, hurns could be...

The main thing is on the depth chart I believe shorts and Lee will be listed as 1 and 2.

This. Depth chart will be Shorts then Lee. Then probably Robinson then Hurns.

I thought I read somewhere that they want to switch up packages and no one will really be only on the outside or the "slot guy." They want to move everyone around based on match ups and whatnot. Not sure where I read that but thought I saw it somewhere.

I'm so sorry for giving my opinion. I'll be sure not to do that on a fan forum from now on.

I see you've run in to Achilles. Yes he's like this all the time.

The starters initially should be:

Hurns and Shorts on the outside, and Lee in the slot.

In time Allen Robinson should pass Shorts fairly easily on the depth chart. If he doesn't thats worrisome. He's more talented/ more upside.

Yes sir. I remember reading the same thing. I can't quite remember who was saying that though.

Should be fun to watch everyone grow together. The offense has a lot of really good pieces. Everyone is young. I'm excited.

Definitely. Not only that, but Blake Bortles will be taking some first-team snaps in practice, so even though he is not the starter, they will grow with him.

You seem to be a changed man this year. Except for "6 or 7 wins" this season, you are not being too negative like I am used to seeing. Smile

I don't really believe I have ever been too negative but I do try to stay realistic.

That's why I say 6 or 7 wins. All depends really on when bortles plays in my opinion.

Its not crazy to think the jaguars could win the division. But I'd expect that to be more of a possibility next season.

if we're talking week one

i expect shorts and hurns on the outside lee in the slot but for their to be enough rotation to make our head spin plus I wouldnt be surprised to see that bunch formation a whole lot too

still spitballing because you know.... lack of life

I'm assuming we're going to see about 60 offensive snaps possibly more with the hurry up

of that we could say 30 runs 30 passes

of the runs I would expect gerhart to take 20 for about 65 yards and a td, not hoping for much behind that line even though phil aren't stellar

todman 6 for 20( as 3rd down back think he gets a draw play on a 3rd and long and takes it for 8-10 to bump his numbers)

denard 4 for 7

I think henne throws 30 passes completing about 19 for about 250 yards, 1 td 1 int

i think lewis gets 3 catches for 40 yards and the td

shorts gets 2 catches for 50 yards, i think shorts does nothing most of the game, then busts out a double move for a big gain

hurns 4 for 60, lots of little intermediate routes for nice gains

lee 5 for 40, i think he gets lots of those little dink and dunk and bubbles screen fish likes to run

gerhart gets 2 out of the backfield for 15

mike brown gets 2 grab for 25

i think allen robinson gets 6 snaps total with one target on a 3rd down, i think it's a slant he brings in for 8 and a 1st down

The starters should be Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns, but it'll be Cecil Shorts and Marqise Lee.

I don't think anyone that knows what they're talking about thinks that.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Lee is getting on the field because he is a mean blocker and has a good skillset. Hurns should start at the X position. Shorts should be inside because he isn't as active blocking but can use veteran savvy on the inside to get open and be serviceable on run downs if we opt to run with 3 wr. I like Lee as a Steve Smith guy.

Tl;dr X hurns, y Lee, Z Shorts.

You really expect Chad Henne to have an 8.3 YPA on Sunday??

Thats positive thinking right there.

with more than one wide receiver that can stretch the field,

a dodgy secondary in phili that finished dead last in yards allowed last year and didn't really get much attention i think it's reasonable to suggest a jump in his ypa in this game

I very much doubt it unless Lee or shorts takes a screen down field. Lewis may be catching a couple deep too but 8+ yPA is generous for henne. He could hit 300 yards in the Eagles game but it'll take 40 pass atempts.

In my experience YPA won't change too much against a poor opponent but total yards may spike. Henne is who he is, he can take advantage of bad defenses but that isn't special.

That dodgy secondary pretty much shut down Roethlisberger in the regular season tune up back on week 3 of the PS.

40 for 300 would be 7.5 and that's assuming a big chunk from Lee or shorts. If it takes 50 for 300 that's 6.0 whick wild be below henne pathetic.

I see 40 passes 35 runs or less. 54% to 46% pass to run is fair expectations for two teams that run high tempo.
