Fisch to imply the Jaguars to have a run heavy offense.

#21

The NFL is a pass first league now with all the rules geared toward protecting the offense.

The pass opens up the run, not the other way around.

As always some team will lead the league in rushing, but unless it's AP, it is usually a pretty good 1 2 running punch.

If your team is a run first football team, that just means that your QB is an average to below average starting QB who the coaches don't trust to throw the ball, which is why they want to run the ball more then throw it.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I'm thinking this is temporary based on the Jags transitioning the QB position.

Once Bortles starts to develop, I anticipate the passing offense becoming more of a dominant theme to the offense....at least thats what I am hoping.

Otherwise, why the hell draft a QB at 3 and accumulate all the WR talent we have?

If you have Chad Henne at the helm, a 3rd overal QB draft pick whom you knew wasnt ready when you drafted him and no viable backup QB.

A suspended WR Blackmon, an injured 2nd round WR Lee, a rookie Allen and Cecil as your WRs with a TE that talks as if he's Graham (hoping to get his paycheck) but drops a lot of passes... makes me think that your only hope is in Toby.

You have to run heavy.

What other chance does this Offense have?

I don't think it's going to matter who the QB is.  I think Fisch wants to have a balanced offensive scheme, and I think he is willing to lean more toward the running game based on his own comments.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

My point being, once Bortles develops, I doubt the offense will be as run heavy by design as it will be this upcoming season. I think it will become more pass-majority.

If I am wrong in that assumption, then taking Bortles at 3 and 2 WR high in the draft in addition to having Shorts, was wasteful.

I don't think you'll see much of a change in the offense when Bortles assumes the starting role.  That doesn't make the draft moves we made this year wasteful, and to imply otherwise is just idiotic.  Teams look for balance.  If it's slightly more heavy to the running game, that's a good thing.  I know some of you can't grasp why that's the case, but it is.
