I liked the remake of Snow White they did a few years back, can't remember what they called it. I'll wait for RedBox on this one, question Trav is it not "kid" friendly seems like the protagonist is a little more adult appropriate? I try to avoid scaring the kids into my bed when possible.

Maleficent is Sleeping Beauty.

 

There are a few parts that made my oldest girl a little leery, but overall not bad. All three of our kids loved it. The youngest, 3, really enjoyed it.

There are a couple parts that are intense for the younger ones, but nothing on the side of gore or language or anything at all.More suspense, and what's going to happen next.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Angelina Jolie was great as Maleficent and the effects were pretty good, too (saw it in 3D at IMAX). Interesting little factoid, one of Jolie's daughters played the toddler aged Aurora.

When I was a kid I collected pins.  I told my wife this weekend that I would like for my son to start doing that also.  Pin collecting at Disney sure has changed.  I was a sucker and our first purchase was for $85...hope he enjoys them. lol

Disney Addict here. The family and I went to see Maleficent last night. Wasn't sure what to expect, but man was I blown away. Disney did it again. Love how they retold the sleeping beauty story, and the twists added. Never thought they would do what they did with the Maleficent character, but I loved it. Great story all around.

 

Angelina Jolie was very good as the main character. The detail to each scene was phenomenal as well.

Have you watched the old classics lately?

 

There's some really dark, messed up stuff in Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pinocchio, and pretty much most of the old cartoon films.

 

I was a bit surprised watching them with my kids for the first time in 30 something years.  It was eye opening seeing them from the point of view of a parent, and hadn't remembered them being so dark when I was a child.

 

That being said... not interested in Maleficent.  Will probably catch it on DVD, which is what I do with most movies.  Not a fan of Angelina Voight.  She's a terrible actress, but a decent model... which is pretty much what she does in front of the camera.

No, quite the opposite. Was surprised, pleasantly at that. They really made it a great story when all was said and done.

 

Also, there are dark sides to many stories of old.
