Quote:That's understood. I just wouldn't classify anything I have read in this thread as "hateful" that was my thought. We agree Gus was a nice guy that everyone in the organization wanted to succeed. Dave Caldwell did Gus a major disservice bringing him back this year expecting him to be a different coach then what he had shown the first three years.

And I totally agree with you about the poor QB play........

Gus was never Head Coach material and both Dave and Shahid are wrong for allowing him to fail for so long. They're all responsible for the cluster that is the Jaguars Organization. But I dont hate them. I just hope they learn and hire a legit Head Coach. Preferably someone with offensive expertise.

Quote:The whole hate on dave issue is just placing the blame.  Cause not one person on this whole message board can give one guy currently available with a better track record then dave.  Just a lets fire him.

He has been worlds better then Shack and Gene.

Anyone who says otherwise is in fact delusional.

Receivers Robinson, Lee, and Hurns  better then anything since Jimmy.

Corners better then anything since Mathis.

Lb better then anything since Peterson

de yannick is the best since brackins

dt best since stroud

So no I don't get the hate sides cry babies.

Once again who is better that is available?

Cause dave has gotten very good players and no salary cap issues ala coughlin.

But yet the ones with no substance will cry fire everyone.  With no replacements.

Gene is in a league of his own. Shack had some hits. Dave is not that great. He's made a lot of transactions in four years and the only benefit I can give him so far are the WR's and Linder. Other moves may be to early to tell. But he's also missed on possibly 3 of 4 first rounders. That's not a good trend. Dave has been able to bring in a few high free agents but his refusal to sore up the trenches has cost this team severely.

I've never seen a better example of the saying, "Nice guys finish last."

Thank you Gus... you did not waver under the immense pressure.  It did not change you for the worse.

This just was not a good fit.  Like some before him, I expect he can find success elsewhere and/or in other roles.

Gus has been and remains classy even in his final press conference.

He wasn't the right man for the job, but I can appreciate his passion and effort and wish him the best going forward.

Good luck, Gus.

Why are we thanking him?

He literally did nothing. Did you start a "Thank you Mularkey" thread?

I'd rather "thank" the GM that fired Mularkey in favor of Gus...

Thank you man who made my sub.

Although it wasn't what I asked for and tasted terrible, you were a nice person. So thank you.

So if Dave Caldwell is fired will you create a thank you thread for him?

Great guy. Just didn't work out as the HC here. I wish him all the best down the road. (unless he goes to the stinkin' tacks. If that happens, I hope he fails miserably.)

Dave Caldwell did not expect Gus Bradley to be a different coach. He wanted the team to attract UFAs who might be scared off by the idea of playing for a lame duck coach and give Bradley a chance to win with a talented roster. I spent three years telling you all it is unfair to judge a coach whose roster is in full rebuild mode and lacking a lot of talent. There was no disservice. Bradley is still getting paid by he Jaguars.

The "poor QB play" is only correct this season. It was great last year. It was up and down in 2014 because Blake Bortles was going through the normal rookie growing pains with other rookies on offense.

I can already tell you it will be 3-10 years before you have to make one.

Plus you will thank him for improving the talent board.

Quote:Thanks for helping this franchise continue to suck.

Though I blame Caldwell and his boss more than I do Gus. He should have been fired at least two years ago.

You might want to spend some time watching our 2015 offense and 2016 defense sometime. Dave Caldwell was never the problem.
