Is it looking more and more like a QB at #3?

umm no NE only had Manziel and Teddy come in for a visit, they are not gonna waste half of their 30 visits on QBs like us

I don't think we're taking a QB regardless of who the first two off the board are.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

This.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

I don't think so either but no one knows for sure what Caldwell's thinking

Quote:Before it seemed like Clowney or Khalil Mack but given the strong interest in Van Noy who we could grab in round 2, beefing up the o-line and trying to get Alex Mack...if Clowney is gone I actually could see us taking Teddy or Manziel.
I like Van Noy but just wondering where this comes from?

Quote:We are def drafting a QB in the 1st or 2nd round
100% agreed Mizzal.

1)Everyone thought we needed a new QB last year, Jaguars didn't draft one in any round. This would seem to indicate that THIS is the year to make not only 'a' pick, but a big pick at the most important position on the field.

2)In every list I've ever seen during the last half of the season/in the offseason, about what teams "need a QB the most", Jaguars were always at the top of that list. Nothing has changed.

3)Nobody has been more desperate for a true top franchise QB to lead their team over the last few years than the Jaguars(makes absolutely no sense that Texans, Browns, Raiders, or Vikings would take one in the top 10, but not us).

4)The only player we would take over a quarterback in my opinion is Clowney(the best prospect in this draft). But he won't be there, so we'll be going QB.

5)As good as Watkins, Evans, Mack, Robinson, etc, etc are, they IMO are all smokescreens for the JAgs. Everyone up to 3 months ago talked about JAguars going "for sure" QB with their top pick. Then it all goes quiet, and now its all Watkins, Robinson, etc. I don't buy it. I think Jaguars have been thinking about/planning for a QB all offseason.

It's Clowney or QB at #3.

I know that Bradley mentioned Van Noy by name either just prior to, or during the Senior Bowl. Add to that the fact that they brought in a guy who is perceived as a Second Round talent makes you think they really like him.

If I was a betting man...

At #3 in the first round, I think Caldwell is most likely going to find a trade down partner for the pick.  If the acquired trade back pick is in the #6-10 range, I think it's very likely that he takes a QB.  If he stays at #3, I think it's fairly even odds between QB, Leo, and WR to be the pick.

Reading the o-zone you'd think we arent going QB in the first round but we are likely grabbing one in the 2nd or 3rd.

Just a hunch but I think we are more likely to get a guy like Carr, Garop, or Mettenberger in the 2nd than we are Teddy, Bortles or Manziel in the 1st.

Two QB names that resonate - not sure why, but that word just works here - with me regarding this team is Garopollo (sp?) and Fales. I know that I've heard Gus speak about Fales and he just seems like the kind of player that would fit into the team's dynamic. Garopollo seems like a gamer and I can see Fisch wanting a guy like that.

Yea Fales is a name we've seen pop up for awhile now.  Didnt Dave mention him a long time ago?  And O-Zone casually tosses his name out there as well.  And obviously talk of him during the Senior Bowl.

I could easily see Garop in the 2nd.  And Fales with one of our 4th rounders.

I believe that's more than a hunch.  It's the most likely scenario, IMO.

I can see your scenario playing out RFC, almost exactly as you've described it. But isn't it funny that I would feel more comfortable with Fales than with Garapollo? He just seems like he's more comfortable in the position.

Agree. I could see a Watkins/Mettenberger combo. I think Carr will be gone by then.

Fales would be a much better pick than Garapollo. I never want to draft a qb with shaky pocket presence.

I am not a big Garoppolo fan. I watched him against Towson and was not impressed. Now West, the running back from Towson, is a stud.

Amen and amen. That guy basically carried Towson to the Title game. I think the kid is going to be good at the next level as well.

We'll take a QB, I think...just not at 3. Ideally, someone falls in love with one of these QB's, and we get to trade back to 6 or 7. I could see someone like the Vikes, who wants to get a championship out of AP before he's done, trade up to get Manziel before Cleveland or Oakland take him. Trade back to #8, take Mack, and then go get Fales or Mettenberger or something like that. But, that's best case scenario to me.

Or, we could take Teddy or Bortles at #3. I'd be okay with that, too.
