If we could re-do this season would you rather have went 0-16 to secure the #1 draft slot?

I wish we would have split with the Texans so that we would have had the 1st overall pick. No reason to go 0-18 for it?

i see why people would wish it but there were moments this season I wouldn't have swapped even for the number one pick

will blackmon's strip sack for a td against the tacks was priceless

short's double move td against haden for a td was awesome

the first half against the texans in the second game when they had to move watt onto rackley to get production as our offense moved the ball at will had me stunned

ace sanders breaking one in the first half and our defense matching the texans d for efficiency even without a recognised pass rush

watching josh scobee make almost every other kicker look incompetent by smashing through field goal after field goal

each of those moments made me for that moment elated, proud to be a jags fan and made me feel positive for the future

i understand that whoever we would have picked with the number one pick could have been the greatest thing ever and ensured good moments for the next 10 years but they also could have been a huge kick in the nads that did next to nothing.

so though i do understand where everyone is coming from i'll keep the good moments ta

I'd never want to finish winless, but finishing with the top pick, otherwise in a dead season? Yes please.

I wanted one extreme or the other - had the Jags kept on winning in December and finished strong I would have been cool with that too....but as it was, we did our usual and finished right in the middle. Nowhereland. Purgatory.

What are you even talking about? Nowhereland? Purgatory? You're trying too hard.

My answer is no.   I would much rather see the team improve and win games than go 0-16.    0-16 would mean Gus can't coach at all.   0-16 would mean the team, and our young players, didn't improve enough to win even one game.   0-16 is a miserable situation.   No one should want to go 0-16, even if it means the #1 pick in the draft.

And besides, this year, there's not even a consensus on who the first pick ought to be!   There are 6 or 7 guys who could wind up being the first pick!

I wish we would never win any games.  Then we'll always have first pick.

For the draftniks there isn't, for Dave there absolutely might be...and there's a good chance that if there is he will be gone. That would hurt.

Completely agree.

I have no interest in watching or supporting any team willing to sacrifice wins for draft position.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

No. There isn't even a consensus #1 pick this year and the Combine has already finished up.

The Jaguars will most likely get who they want.

Funny thing is everyone wanted us you tank for Teddy and we may get him anyways. Which is why you never tank!

No. Those 4 wins meant alot for the team and Gus. They showed grit to finish out the year. We needed to see that.

Quote:It would have, if we just won one game then none of our players improved like they did at the end of the season which helped us to win 3 out of 4.  I would rather have the number 3 pick and probably still get one of the 2 players we covet than the number one pick and all our young players still not improving.  Anyone with that logic, ah nvm.

The margin of winning and losing is so slim, if other teams made very basic plays we could have lost every game.  Equating an end result with individual improvement of young players is idiotic.

I think we're still in good position to draft several studs in a deep draft. Also nice to know that we have a good coach, because our roster didn't win those games

The slim margin of winning is exactly why you want your young guys to learn how to win.

Improvement that doesn't help you win is meaningless improvement.

What is truly idiotic is criticizing a team for improving too much.

People who advocate tanking have never successfully competed or earned a starting job in athletic competition. If you had and realized the kind of effort it takes not only to win a job but to keep it, you would see how laughable this fairy tale idea of tanking would be to the ones you expect to go out there and lose.

It's stupid to think the players wouldn't compete to their utmost just so the franchise gets a better chance of bringing in someone to take their job. You people live in a complete fantasy land.

Nothing would make the money I drop on season tickets feel better than 0-16.

And what better motivation does a person need to go buy season tickets than to go 0-16 and be called amongst the worst team's in league history. Go Jags!
