Caldwell: “It would be beneficial to us if we trade down.”

I would love to trade down. Thought we should have last year. I'd be surprised if Miami didn't offer the same thing to us that they offered to Oakland. IMHO I think we should have taken it if that was the case. We'll see what happens.

Quote:Again, he can see a Franchise QB in this draft and still want to trade down, if houston takes manziel and stlouis trades long and takes clowney then its watson or trade down.

PS, Lee is a bum, dropped more deep passes than he caught and he is injury prone

Youre out of you mind. he played 36 of 39 games and the play he really got hurt on was a freak punt return. This kid could be the best wide out in the draft after its all said and done.. if youre going to say Lee is a bust dont hide behind a farce of being injury prone.

I was talking more about his frame than one injury, I don't see the hype, he isnt a burner. he isnt big, he has bad hands... Someone explain the hype. Watching his highlights its just him being wide open because he played bad dbs.

A lot of people talk about Manziel’s arm strength negatively, but I don’t see why. He has a very strong arm. From what I’ve seen, in terms of pure arm strength, I’d put him second above Bridgewater
and behind Mariota. He is able to throw the ball for chunks of yardage at a time through the air, and honestly he could probably throw it a whole lot further if he put his weight behind it (he has footwork issues which I’ll address later). One thing I was also pleasantly surprised with was his touch. He knows how to control the arc of the ball pretty well, but it’s not fantastic. I would also put him second in this category, with Mariota at third (Bridgewater is far and away the best touch passer in the country.) Anyway, I digress. He is also, as you can see from the statistics, very accurate. 80% accuracy against the best team in the country isn’t normal. It’s very good.

Crabtree wasnt a burner but led his conference and was a Biletnikoff winner with big hands. also he wasnt but about an inch maybe 10lbs bigger than lee

Swaguars, wanna make a bet, If teddy throws more TD's, and less Hennes than manziel after his rookie year I will change my sig to what every you want. If not, you will

change your sig to what ever i want.

PS, Hennes=Interceptions.

I feel like the team who ends up drafting them will have a big impact on which has the better rookie season.

A QB makes a team, not the otherway around.

It's been known to happen both ways.

ESPN said this morning that the redskins were looking for a 2nd rounder for cousins. i'm thinking if clowney is gone then trade down pick up extra picks and trade a second for cousins.

Who is a quarterback going to hand off to? Who is a quarterback going to throw the football to? Who is going to block?

Gabbert has everything you ever want in a pro quarterback. Henne is all you ever need in a quarterback.

Why not focus on why we can't win and why a quarterback with Gabbert's impressive skills must turtle up in the pocket?

Quote:He must not see a franchise QB in the top of the draft if he is willing to trade down.

Not necessarily. He is saying if the Texans or Rams pick his favorite quarterback, trading down should be an option.

Quote:Or if there's no QB off the board at three, get someone to trade with us so they pick the one they want.

Prospects of trading back would probably be better since there are a handful of teams behind us needing QB, too.  Get them to think one is within reach, and they'll bite to get their guy.  Then, trade back and we still get our guy.

With all of the smokescreen going around, how is he supposed to know the Browns and/or Raiders don't want the same quarterback?

Quote:The only reason you believe this is Clowney added to Watt and Cushing is your worst nightmare.

Take Jake.

What is wrong with you? All you ever say is we need to pick a player who is completely useless to us.

It sounds to me like Caldwell is just throwing every possible scenario out there.

What if he throws less Hennes but more Gabberts?

Falcons want up, we want down. I'd take swap firsts and take their 2nd round pick. We'd still be able to get a DE (Mack) and a QB in rounds 2-3.

Acquiring more picks is fine, but you need to draft contributors no matter where you pick and what position.  Picking the wrong guy can set you back no matter what position - not just the QB.

Wow, that's deep.
