Who should the Jags select at #3?

#21

Quote:I heard yesterday Manziel will throw at Texas A&M combine. I really want Clowney but if not him I'll take Dee Ford or Sammy Watkins. There's not a QB I'd pick at 3 or top 10.

Who said that? This is all you need to know: His agent said he will only throw at a private workout on March 27.

Dee Ford will be picked closer to #39. He is labeled a first or second rounder.

It looks like Teddy has a slight edge over Clowney, and with the report that Clowney's head coach said his work ethic is "ok," I'd might shy away from making him my top pick.

Quite frankly we may not have any other choice.

I feel the Texans will pick Bridgewater and Clowney will be the consolation prize

David Caldwell sounds like a guy who will not pick a quarterback if a better player is available because we have needs everywhere.

"In today's day and age, if you can't get Peyton Manning or Matt Ryan, and they might not be available for the next 10 or 15 years, then you have to adapt and build the roster and do what's best for the organization," Caldwell said.

But he obviously wants to pick a quarterback if the value is there.

"Having a franchise guy makes the world a lot easier, though. It can erase a lot of mistakes you make. But if you force it, you can screw it up. I don't know if we're going to find that guy, but I hope we do."

The only qb that Dave would pick at the 3 slot is Bridgewater

An educated guess predicated on some pretty strong evidence to back it up

That too, but what I know is a tad bit stronger than all of that

You don't know any more than the anonymous scouts and general managers who tell lies to keep 31 other teams guessing.

Teddy. If you don't have one, get one. You never know if you'll be this high in the upcoming drafts to grab one later. The odds of picking up a successful QB outside of round 1 prospects is dreadfully low. I would not be upset if they pull the trigger on Jadeveon instead, and let Dave do his magic on another QB solution.

If the Texans pick Teddy and Johnny is worth the #3 pick, that is fine with me too.

I selected other.

If we take a quarterback at three, he's just going to be left as a greasy spot on the turf.

We really need offensive line help. The Jaguars should draft OT Jake Matthews or OT Taylor Lewan.

Jake Matthews is not a guard or center, so he would be completely useless in Jacksonville.

If the Jags go o-line, its Greg Robinson

What position does he play?

I don't think they will do that because we can pick up a few offensive linemen later in the draft, but need a lot of luck to find a good quarterback later.

Tackle, Orlando Pace like potential

It all depends if Bridgewater and Clowney are on the board or not
