Greg Cossell Talks NFL Draft on 790 AM

#21

Quote:I strongly disagree that his (TB) arm is similar to Wilson's. I was very high on Wilson in that draft. The only knock I ever read on him was his height, no real complaints about arm strength, ball placement, accuracy, or decision making when it came to Wilson pre draft.

So that was the only real question about Wilson....really.....and I still wouldn't take him in the 1st round, he landed in a great situation. I am not sure things would have been the same here had we taken him.
Wilson never had a cannon. The same level as Bridgewater's

There is no knock on Bridgewater's arm strength, just that he doesn't have a rpg attached to his shoulders

Teddy or Clowney. If we stay at the top of first I would be happy to get either of them. Clowney is the best player in the draft and you can't pass on a talent like that unless Caldwell really sees his attitude as a continuing issue. Teddy is the best QB in the draft far and away imo. I wouldn't draft any other QB in the first round.

I didn't say Wilson had a cannon, I just said to say Bridgewater's arm is the same is not accurate. Bridgewater has average arm strength, Wilson is very much above average.....

I am sorry if you don't agree, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree

Clowney would have to commit a felony to not be a top 2 pick

People throw out the stats of 3 sacks blah blah blach

But I have seen a player who made a bigger impact on the field

What I am hoping is that Houston's owner meddles and decides to take a QB #1 overall.......

Then my next hope is Rams realize even though Clowney is an awesome player that they really need to address other teams needs and take Watkins or an OT. My bet is on Watkins, since they haven't had a true #1 wide out since "the greatest show on turf"....

That would leave us Clowney Smile

Would be foolish for them to take Clowney over any of the qbs, I could understand Bridgewater but still, the physical talent and ability is too much to pass up.

Clowney may run 4.45...

That would be unbelievable, would kill all the position drills in the combine

Quote:If this is true, then that would suggest a QB even at #3 would also be a reach and likely a mistake.

This why some folks believe there's much better value in the second round, etc.
Only you believe that. After Teddy, Bortles, and Manziel, there is a significant drop off.

This can be said with over 90% certainty. I don't see who they take over Clowney

Bridgewater would have to kill his combine measurements and pro days

I hope Clowney has the best combine ever so the Texans pick him at 1.

Clowney is going to blow people away at the combine.  He's going to have unbelievable numbers for a man his size.
