Don't shoot the messegner (Charles David doesn't believe Teddy Bridgewater is a top 10 guy)

Quote:Not that I want this team to wait but the 2014 QB is loaded, Winston, Petty, Mariota, Brett Smith etc.. Winston may not come out. Remember when Barkley was considered the top prospect for 2012? Last year, this year's class looked better. 2011 Draft was 'loaded' too.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Not that I want this team to wait but the 2014 QB is loaded, Winston, Petty, Mariota, Brett Smith etc.. Same ol' song
The problem with the 'wait until next year' strategy has a couple issues. One, if the Jags improve their record next year, the waited for QBs could be gone. And two, the rebuilding process at the critical QB position is delayed a year. Whether you are a new franchise or a rebuilding team, one of the first positions you get determined is QB.
Just because it is determined by analysts that an elite franchise QB is not in this draft class, does not mean that an effective and win'able QB can not be found in the draft (and deliver a significant upgrade to Henne/Gabbert). If you don't have a QB, you get one. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Charles Davis obviously doesn't read this board then.LOL! Going out on a limb here but this board probably has the most Teddy threads compared to other teams, and i don't think its even close!
probably because we all knew that we would be drafting near the top before the season even started
Quote:LOL! Going out on a limb here but this board probably has the most Teddy threads compared to other teams, and i don't think its even close! At one point earlier in the fall I counted like 14 Teddy threads on the first page alone.
Drafts and how players pan out is always unpredictable. If i told you this time last year that the top rookie QB would be Mike Glennon and Geno Smith would throw twice as many INTs as TDs you'd probably think I was crazy.

Quote:If Bryce Petty and Mariota declared this year they'd be top 5 picks. Mariota? Maybe. Petty? You must be joking.
I thought Teddy would be a top 5 lock and first QB taken, as well as many others and i've read many posters here proclaim him one of the better prospects of the decade, more surprisingly a notch below luck. Its really surprising to hear some of the reports coming out lately regarding Teddy's value as a prospect. If that is the case, maybe we still have a chance at drafting him if we fall out of the top 8 range. But i'd be leery of my own evaluation skills like many others here and be cautious drafting him if he did fall that far. I'll trust Caldwell in whatever he decides, still hoping for Fales in the 3rd

Quote:Mariota? Maybe. Petty? You must be joking. Gil "The godfather" Brandt loves him, "I like Petty, first of all, because I have a great deal of confidence in head coach Art Briles, who told me as far back as two years ago that he thought Petty could be the best QB he's ever coached -- this coming from a guy who has coached the likes of Robert Griffin III and Kevin Kolb," Brandt wrote. "Petty has both a strong and accurate arm. He gets the ball to his receivers in a hurry, but he also puts it right into his receivers' hands." We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Winston may not come out. It is highly likely Winston will come out in 2015, especially if he wins the heisman and a national title this year.
Quote:woah KEVIN KOLB?!! RGIII is also on that list, I haven't seen Bryce Petty play enough to form my own opinion, just reciting what Gil Brandt said. Since none of us our scouts, I'll trust the opionion of someone who's more competent than any of us.

Quote:What does race have to do with anything? Hahaha, as an African Amercian man I can appreciate that humor.
Quote:LOL! Going out on a limb here but this board probably has the most Teddy threads compared to other teams, and i don't think its even close! Yes, but then again the way we were losing during our 0-8 run, the last thing people wanted to do was think about this season. The Bridgewater talk was an escape from reality.
He'll be a second rounder once it's all said and done. There are just too many things not to like about him.
1. Small frame. Not going to be able to absorb NFL hits. 2. Weak Arm. His floaters will be picked at the next level. 3. Inaccurate throwing down field. 4. Not fiery. Non-leader. Doesn't carry his team on his back or make them any better. 5. Mediocre stats playing a very weak schedule. 6. Wears gloves on both hands? What's up with that? He aint no Kurt Warner. 7. Cross Dresser. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2...ridgewater ![]() |
