Quote:Boselli was probably the best player we have ever had, but I don't care. My vote goes to Fred Taylor. The guy was just friggin awesome. He could blow past defenders with his 4.3 speed, run them over with his 6' 230 lb frame or juke them out of their jockstraps. Plus he mentored a great, albeit not quite as awesome, replacement in MJD.

There will never be another Fred Taylor.

My sentiment exactly.  There will never be another Fred Taylor.  Combination freak size, speed and agility in a running back.  He struck absolute terror in defenses week in and out.  Think of it this way, Tom Coughlin knew he couldn't play and still listed him week to week to have an advantage over the opposing team (Total dick move when you consider the unfair label).

Boselli is renown as one of the few best ever at his position, and deserves props for the term "greatest." Freddy was the funnest guy to watch in slo-mo ever... except for maybe Barry Sanders. But still, I have to agree with this order.

Quote:With Jimmy Smith getting ready to be in the Jags hall of fame on the 11th it lead me to ask this question, who is the Greatest Jag of all-time??? My personal favorite is Freddy T...

I agree. Fred Taylor is the best player we ever had here in Jacksonville. I still shake my head in awe when I look at his career numbers and see that he missed like a whopping 60+ NFL starts due to injuries. Fred did so much with less opportunity and he was a constant professional.

Yeah just thinking about it makes you appreciate the fact that you were able to witness his greatness... I can only imagine what it would have been like to witness Walter Peyton, or Jim Brown and other Great players...

Bell for the Steelers kinda reminds me of Fred with his patient running style. Fred was much faster, but Bell is much better as a receiver out of the backfield. Probably my favorite RB in the league right now.

I'll go with Freddy Taylor and I'll add that I think he's deserving of NFL HoF consideration.  He's my favorite Jag (and I'm a Nole, btw)

This is what it means to be old...

Being able to fondly remember all of the players and think of better times.

1. Tony Boselli

2. Jimmy Smith

These two are by far, the front runners. Both should be in the HOF.
