It isn't funny really...  Playing well relative to other teams in your division should make you pro bowl eligible.  The chiefs had people make the pro bowl last year with 2 wins.  I like my team and some of the players have been playing well.  I doubt we will have anyone make the first team selections but it is nice to post to a thread discussing this.

Are the players being mentioned (Poz,Scobee,Anger) playing well withing their own rights? Yes

 

Is the Probowl about the win/loss column ? Nope

Hard for me to give a hoot about the pro-bowl anymore.  It's just such a joke now.

If I was a player, would I want to go and play in the "pick up" game? But on topic, Marks has a shot if he shows well on Thursday. They will highlight reel his play for the past month. Still will fall short.

 

It's pretty obvious the players like going to the game with the amount of fight they put in to move the game back to Hawaii.  The players still love a free vacation for themselves and family.

Why are people saying Anger? He's average. Poz is the only one that might be worthy.

Personally I think Poz/Marks should go and Anger should have gone last year and probably should this year too. 

For this year, I think Alan Ball has played well enough to be considered for the Pro Bowl. Even perennial Pro Bowl favorites give up a few tosses here and there. Alan is playing outfield with a slew of rookies, which might explain his side is not receiving priority attention of opposing offenses. Yet, from an objective look at things as they are, his play has been top-notch. You don't always get to see all the action, but his level of play is conspicuous for its invisibility.

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

I don't see anyone making the Pro Bowl. The team doesn't get adequate coverage nationally to get the fan vote. Coaches and players might look at Poz or Marks, but even that seems unlikely. Maybe Anger? Even he is debatable.

Off the top of my head I think Daryl Smith (whos an ILB at Bal i think), Derrick Johnson, and Kiko Alanso deserve the pro bowl over Poz in the AFC. I could be forgetting someone but those 3 wouldnt leave a spot for him anyway. He might be the 4th best though.

 

Scobee would make it if he was on a better team, maybe Anger as well.

While Poz has an uphill battle to make the Pro Bowl because of what you mentioned,  I think he helped his cause against the Texans on National TV.   From at least an instincts,  technique, and a relentless approach standpoint,  Poz reminds me of another former Penn St. who came after him in Happy Valley:  Sean Lee.  IMO,  Poz was the Defensive MVP of this game for the Jaguars.

Poz is probably our only chance. I for one am not watching the pro bowl unless a Jag is in it... the game itself is a complete waste of time.
