If we are sitting at #1 in May, no way do we pass (pun not intended) on a chance to draft the guy David Caldwell thinks is the best quarterback - most likely Bridgewater. I would be open to a trade down if we "earn" the second or third overall pick and get a monster offer from another bad team. If another team is stupid enough to give us all the Rams got from the Redskins, which probably will never happen, I would bite without hesitation. But the chances of that happening are between slim and none.

Bridgewater is nothing more than the promising-looking college QB du jour. These come every year. Some team drafts them. Then they are forced to confront the fact that the reason they are awful on offense relates to the offensive line and NOT the QB.

 

For our situation drafting Bridgewater is a mistake. He'll constantly get injured. His career will be cut short.

 

No talent on the offensive line and we can kiss what little talent we have at WR goodbye as well.

Ultimately answer me one question..when was the last time a read option qb (what mariota will be) won a Super Bowl? Cause I just saw kaepernick take the über talented niners to the Super Bowl and lose vs a less talented ravens a lot to do with qb play.


Also the major flaw with this is simple..why would the number 3 give up a kings ransom to go to number 1? The mere fact that they would shows how good a prospect teddy is.
