Back on topic: Knowing the Vikings have only one realistic chance of winning again (at home against the Redskins), do you still think the Buccaneers are more likely to steal the top pick from us?

As long as the thread remains up, there will be plenty of opportunities for people to participate. Quote:Back on topic: Knowing the Vikings have only one realistic chance of winning again (at home against the Redskins), do you still think the Buccaneers are more likely to steal the top pick from us? At this point in time, I think the Vikings have 3 realistic chances of winning again: Redskins, Bears, Eagles. All of the game are at Mall of America Field. W/o saying, the Vikings are capable of winning one or more other games and losing as many as all 3 of these games. NFL= Not for Long. Expect the unexpected before the dust settles. The Bucs lost starting WR Mike Williams for the season in their loss to the Panthers last Thursday Night. Injuries are piling up on what already was a train wreck. Greg Schiano probably kept his job after the Bucs debacle against the Panthers only because the Seahawks are the Bucs next opportunity. The game is in Seattle. The term ' sheep to the slaughter' comes to mind when reflecting on this game. After the Bucs very likely lose their 8th straight game this season, unless they are competitive most of the game, Schiano more likely than not will be fired. If Schaino gets fired after the game in Seattle, the interim Head Coach will have two somewhat realistic opportunities to get wins: Miami and then Atlanta. Both games are in Tampa. If the Bucs lose those two games, I think they have at least a 50-50 chance at going 0-16. My gut feeling is Schiano will never win another game was Bucs HC. IMO, the best thing that can happen for the Jaguars regarding the Bucs situation is for Schiano to be fired by the Bucs by sometime next Monday. The longer Schiano stays on, the greater the chance that the Bucs are going to finish 0-16 or 1-15. The nickname of the Tampa Bay franchise fits right in with the mutiny that will probably take place if Schiano remains the Bucs HC much longer. We show less advertisements to registered users. Time to compare the schedules:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Jets (4-4) SAINTS (6-1) @ Patriots (6-2) CARDINALS (4-4) EAGLES (3-5) @ Falcons (2-5) PANTHERS (4-3) @ Seahawks (7-1) DOLPHINS (3-4) FALCONS (2-5) @ Lions (5-3) @ Panthers (4-3) BILLS (3-5) 49ERS (6-2) @ Rams (3-5) @ Saints (6-1) Minnesota Vikings @ Lions (5-3) @ Bears (4-3) BROWNS (3-5) STEELERS (2-5)* PANTHERS (4-3) @ Giants (2-6) PACKERS (5-2) @ Cowboys (4-4) REDSKINS (2-5) @ Seahawks (7-1) @ Packers (5-2) BEARS (4-3) @ Ravens (3-4) EAGLES (3-5) @ Bengals (6-2) LIONS (5-3) *Game was played in London and Minnesota's only win. Both teams have the Eagles, Panthers, Lions, Seahawks, and Falcons. Tampa Bay has the NFC West and AFC East. Minnesota has the NFC East and AFC North. What you need to know: The NFC East is the NFL's worst division, like the NFC West was a few years ago. In the AFC, East is better than North. So apparently the Vikings, not the Buccaneers, are most worrisome because of their weaker strength of schedule and inability to stick with a quarterback. Quote: Why do you believe the AFC East is better than the AFC North? At the very least, a case can be made that the AFC North is equal to the AFC East. For the sake of discussion, I would currently put the two divisions on the same level. At least on the top, the Bengals are the best team in either division. They beat the Patriots a few weeks ago. The Bengals were my AFC Super Bowl pick before the season and I'm sticking with them. Even with the season ending Achilles injury to CB Leon Hall in Detroit 10 days ago, they are still deep at CB. The Bengals are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.
Quote:Why do you believe the AFC East is better than the AFC North? At the very least, a case can be made that the AFC North is equal to the AFC East. For the sake of discussion, I would currently put the two divisions on the same level. Simple: Look at their records. The AFC East teams with losing records won more games than the AFC North teams with losing records. Quote:Simple: Look at their records. The AFC East teams with losing records won more games than the AFC North teams with losing records. The overall records are close enough that it's difficult to make conclusions based on that which division of the two is better. One thing to consider is the Head to Head Results between the two divisions. Vs. the AFC East: Bengals 2-0 ( wins over the Patriots and Jets ) Ravens 1-1 ( win vs. the Dolphins, loss vs. the Bills ) Browns 1-1 ( Win vs. the Bills, loss vs. the Dolphins ) Steelers 1-0 ( win vs. the Jets ) Hence, through week 8, the AFC North is 5-2 vs. the AFC East. Quote:The overall records are close enough that it's difficult to make conclusions based on that which division of the two is better. The last one is irrelevant. We all know the Steelers are worse than the Jets. One thing is for sure, both divisions suck. Quote:If the Vikings need opposing players to be on injured reserve, they can't beat the Super Bowl champs. I still think their only chance is the Redskins. Have you way watched the Ravens this year? They don't look anything like a Superbowl Champ team, to this point in the season. They have looked very pedestrian. Quote:The overall records are close enough that it's difficult to make conclusions based on that which division of the two is better.Actually D6, the Bengals are 3-0 vs the AFC East. They beat the Bills already in Buffalo. If Cincy can defeat Miami tomorrow night, they will have completed a Sweep of the AFC East. I know because I am an avid Bengals fan. I go to quite a few of their games, and watch them on TV when I can't attend. I will say, the game between Lions/Bengals was an exciting one. Lions seemed to have the ball forever on a few drives. Watching both Calvin Johnson and AJ Green that day was a special treat. Megatron pulling down that jump ball for a TD (with 3 Bengals around him) was just amazing.
Quote:Have you way watched the Ravens this year? They don't look anything like a Superbowl Champ team, to this point in the season. They have looked very pedestrian. I watched the season opener at Denver. Because the Broncos were preseason Super Bowl favorites, I did not think the Ravens are really that bad. Of course, even if the Ravens do suck this year, I think it is safe to say the Vikings are much worse. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Of course, even if the Ravens do suck this year, I think it is safe to say the Vikings are much worse. Well, I agree with you there. I think the Ravens will probably start looking better this season. But, I've watched some of their games, and they have not looked good in quite a few of them. I hate the Ravens (Bengals fan here), so I'm glad when they lose.
Quote:Well, I agree with you there. I hate the Ravens too because I grew up in central Ohio, where Browns fans stopped watching NFL games altogether after the move to Baltimore. But I don't like either team in that state. Back on topic, Minnesota has the benefit of not playing against the Saints twice. Quote:The last one is irrelevant. We all know the Steelers are worse than the Jets. We do? Pittsburgh beat NYJ in Week six.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! |
