Jags would be 6-5 with Henne at QB

why would we do it?

I mean... at this point don't we want the top 5 pick?

Idk about you but I would much rather be 4-7 than 2-9

I don't care. They are both sub .500 records, so as far as I'm concerned, we'd be a losing team either way.

In theory... I suppose.

I mean, neither are anything that would lead you to believe your team is any good at all.

To me there's 3 categories.

You're either bad. almost there, or competing.

In some instances a good team will have a bad year due to injuries but...

2-14 and 4-12 are the same. You're bad.

7-9, 8-8, 9-7... these are the teams that are almost there.....

10-6 or better and you're competing for playoffs and a SB.

Henne doesn't take us to the .500 club.

Bortles could, if he'd play better. I don't know if he physically can play any better this year. But putting in Henne isn't going to have us run the table to a 7-9 record. He can't make Hurns catch the dang ball. He can't open up holes in the run game. And he doesn't do anything physically that makes him better than Bortles (as a matter of fact, he's less mobile)

If you want to win, don't hope for Henne to come in, hope for Bortles (and crew) to play better.

Henne supporter?  LOL

Just saying Henne wouldn't be 0-16 like some people here think.

He is sometimes just as capable if not more so than Blake.  It's not supporting Henne, it's just an indictment on Blake.

Henne COULD also take you to 7-9 or 8-8.

We are all hoping Bortles gets better.  But I'm not in the camp that he should automatically play next year.

I would take it one step further.. if we are 2-11 in 2 weeks, I would give the rookie 3 games to start to see how he plays.

agree, Allen needs to get some playing time if Bortles continues his struggles

If you really think about it, Henne had trash around him his entire career(even Miami was garbage). Blackmon's career game was with Henne throwing him the ball. I would argue Lee/Hruns/AR15 > Blackmon and a bunch of nobodies and a terrible O-line. Henne is an average QB, and I think Blake has been below average this year in a lot of games. I think we would have 4 or 5 wins. Blake is really, really bad this year. He has shown flashes, but that is it. I can't look at one game this year and say "wow he balled today, he put the team on his back and won it". Blake is an average to below average QB with the ability to scramble. If Blake didn't have an ability to extend plays with his legs, I would argue Henne may be a slightly better QB than Blake. Both are average at best, I would personally love to see Allen play now that we are 2-irrelevant. Its not like it can get much worse than eliminated from the playoffs right?

Mother of god. Henne is nowhere near as good as Blake. Take away Blake's mistakes and assume we could somehow run the ball earlier on this season with Henne back there, then its possible we could win a couple of more games.

The kid is going through a funk. Trying way to hard to force things, thinking too much, feeling pressure, whatever. Anyone on this forum who is a professional knows what that's about.

Just have to let him play through it and hope we see more of the passing he's capable of (ie. Marquise Lee TD pass last week).

You're Welcome.

If only we had known that the Jags would be 2-9 after 11 games with BB5 at QB, then we could have just started Henne at QB and seen what our record would be after 11 games with him instead.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Start Henne in the first and put bortles in at the 5 minute mark of the second quarter. Boom.

While we are at it I think we could bring back Cleo Lemon and Quinn Gray .. it's worth a shot

Have you watched any games this year? Outside of mobility Blake is not much better than Chad Henne, and I would argue Chad is more mechanically sound. They both make poor decisions, get balls batted, throw picks and stare down receivers. I mean this is like arguing over who sucks more.. The Jags or the Browns.. They both still suck massively so who cares? I just want to see the unproven commodity get a shot. Allen, however unlikely, could be a possible answer and since we are all but eliminated from contention I would love for Blake to sit out, go on IR and get to work on his mechanics ASAP.

I agree with this. Blake needs to sit a few games. I'd let the rookie play. At this point this season has been over since week 5.

So basically Bortles has turned into Henne. That's not good, not good at all.

Oooooo my laaawd I know their is some one here who truly believes this henne was a bum for Miami the only reason he won games is Ronnie brown an Ricky Williams anytime brown was injured they lost they thought so highly of henne they ran the wild cat to get him off the field 80% of the time

I can't stand Bart Scott. It's a shame he even has a job on CBS. He's the kind of guy you want to punch square in the face most of the time when he speaks. He's a tool. Rodney Harrison on NBC is another shame. I can't stand him either. Heath Evans and Jamie Dukes are jokes as well on the NFL Network.
