MJD is the face of the franchise.  Looking at the NFL.com list, the only place that makes sense is Miami. Dallas can't afford him and Arizona's O-line is even worse than ours.

 

If we trade him, I hope he lands on a contender, and I sure hope we get the better end of the deal.

I'd bet $500 that Caldwell has actively tested the market for MJD.  Anyone who believes he hasn't shopped him / fielded some offers is kidding themselves, IMO.  We'll know soon enough if any offers met Caldwell's asking price. 

 

I believe him when he says he'd like to keep him around - but he'd definitely trade him for the right price.

If he had said the opposite you would be whinging about killing their trade value by making it so public he wanted them traded.

 

Isn't the point to try and maximise value by not acting like such a willing seller? Or do you just want to whinge?

Couple of things.

 

1. MJD has never shown up in a game that actually matters.

2. If a RB is the most "appreciated" player on your team, your team has major issues. Shoe fits perfectly.

You either are not a long time Jag fan or have a short memory. I remember just a few years ago, our offense and team for that matter was almost as bad as it is now. MJD ran for over 1600 yards against constant 8 and 9 man fronts. He is the only reason that anybody outside of our fan base knows anything about us. He has kept us relevant for many years when we haven't had much of anything and has always produced numbers (minus the last few years of having horrible O-line support). If you actually had factual basis for your opinions, I wouldn't mind you spewing this. But with just ridiculous opinion of a player you probably hate due to one reason and one reason only, you feel butthurt he held out because he was looking out for his livelihood, instead of kissing your butthurt butt. Get over this and respect the man for what he's done for our team. A whole lot more than you or I have...........

I don't think Todman has gotten much of a chance to prove himself this year. I've seem good things from him behind an abysmal offensive line. They have roughly the same amount of yards per rushing attempt.

 

Jones-Drew: 3.1 yds/a

Todman: 2.8 yds/a

 

I'm all for shopping him if possible. His time is short anyways. The Jaguars are building for the future.

Except he wasn't saying what he said about Poz and MoJo to maximize their value he was simply being honest. If he was just trying to maximize their value you don't proclaim to the players that they are safe, he would have said something like "I haven't spoke to anyone about those players" and left it at that, without any commitment about the players future for the rest of the season in Jax as he did.

Denard is way better than Todmann. If anyone needs more carries its him.
