Quote:He just might be worth a flyer...anything to get the Jaguars pass rush going. I thought for sure they'd get some pressure after the Chargers lost two guys at LT, but there was none all day.

They didn't even have an LT by the end of the game Sad and we couldn't do a thing... I'd take him and his character issues see what he can do

Not sure about the other two guys that were waived. But I remember this guy was pretty highly regarded during draft talks in April. Guy's obviously got some character issues, but still young and might do better with a second chance and a change of scenery in Jacksonville. Thoughts?

He is a talented guy, which questions about his commitment, but a team like the Jags should take a flier on him see what he can do, low risk high reward guy, I know people go on now he is bad kid or what ever, but remember Chris Carter was cut by the Eagles and that turned his life around he became a HOF player for the Vikings.

He played for the Eagles for like 2 or 3 years and had established himself as a good NFL WR before that happened however.

I'd pick him up. Sam Montgomery was a first rounder, then fell. As a follower of SEC Football, I know how effective he can be.

Hell, we have Babin and Branch...

It honestly couldn't hurt to pick any of them up.  What's the worst that could happen - we go 0-16??

If coached properly off the field issues can be overcome.

Look at burfict of the bengals. That being said it wouldn't suprise me at all for the bengals to look at Montgomery they seem to always like a project.

Think about it though...

Montgomery gets booted off of his team for whatever reason, and there are reports that he is wholly unmotivated. If he comes to Jacksonville, he'll have an opportunity to play the team that cut him twice this season alone. You bring him in here and sell him on the whole "show them what they are missing" angle and see how he responds. If he doesn't show up, then you know he's a dud. If he does, maybe you've got something there.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I really don't get why we wouldn't claim him.

I'm all for it. It's been time for some lineup changes anyways. Let this kid get some reps and see if he can get something done.

Because he is not good at all, not motivated and we have much better players and persons to give our back of the roster spot to ?

we have better players at the back end of roster? Really? I think most everyone on the team is expendable other than about 20-30.

It makes sense to pick them up if they are a cancer then you cut them and move on its not like we don't chrun the bounty 5-8 players weekly anyways.

I have no idea what this means, but I have to find a way to use "chrun the bounty" in a casual conversation at some point today.

Who do you cut to make room for a bum dumb enough to be out of half of the league draft boards, to show up in camp out of shape and to be cut as a 3rd round pick in the middle of the season ?

It's not like he was a very good college prospect either, his get off was ridiculously slow.

Oh I dunno, cancers in the locker room aren't exactly a good example for a rebuilding team?... :whistling:

So yesterday you were worried these guys could make the team better.

Today you are worried these guys could make the team worse.

Make up your mind or stop worrying about every little thing.
