Thanks, but I don't have to "act" smart (especially not around you). My "defense" of Gabbert was not to say that he was playing well or that he would even be here next year. My "defense" was to say that I believed (and still do) that the potential benefits of starting Gabbert outweigh the potential benefits of starting Henne. I never claimed that Gabbert is good or that he is better than Henne.

Whats so funny about that? Last time Tebow was a teams starter they went to the playoffs and won a playoff game. Noting wrong with looking to bring in a QB who has started in the NFL. Bums like Gabbert still have starting jobs who has never done anything.

Tebow is not the reason the Broncos made it to the playoffs. He is actually statistically worse in almost every category than Gabbert.

 

Tebow has completed 47.9% of his passes. Gabbert has completed 53.3% of his passes.

Tebow has thrown for 2,422 yards. Gabbert has thrown for 4,357 yards.

Tebow averages 69.2 ypg (103.6 if you exclude his stint as a Jet). Gabbert averages 155.6 ypg.

Tebow has thrown 17 tds. Gabbert has thrown 22 tds.

 

Oh, and to top it all off, this is all from a similar number of games!

 

Both suck, but Tebow is much, much worse despite having a better team around him.

Gabbert was drafted the year after Tebow but yet he should still have a team look and see if he can be the guy? Thats what some people say. My point is to the OP why is it a funny thing for a team to look at Tebow, its not a QB tree out there with great QBs waiting to be signed, these guys are dropping like flies  guys like Tebow and Vince Young should get looks.

Tebow isn't the solution to anyone's problem. Gabbert threw for almost as many yards in one season as Tebow has in his entire career. That's why he's still got a job and Tebow doesn't. Add to that the fact that Gabbert likely won't have a job for much longer AND the fact that Tebow is a gimmick quarterback AND the fact that Tebow's ridiculous legion of fans are nothing but a worthless distraction and you've got your answer.

Attributing wins to Tebow is entirely disingenuous.  Guess Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson are all-time greats because they won a Super Bowl.
