Hmmm, don't start Allen because the current goofus HC doesn't think he's good enough?
Remember when Drew Bledsoe got injured and this young QB called Tom Brady came in? The coaching staff didn't realize Brady was the superior QB. And for the record, Brady was also a 6th round pick. Maybe Allen isn't the next Tom Brady, maybe he isn't any good. But at this point in the season, what difference does it make? Playing Bortles when he's obviously "off" is not good for his future. And if Dave Caldwell drafted Allen to replace Henne as the backup, then getting him experience will be a good idea for 2017. |
