Is It Possible That Gabbert Could Be Released Before The Season's Up?

#21

Quote:He's worth at least a 4th and a 5th. We're going to need more late round picks to come in and start in 2014.

I doubt a team even gives up a 7th for him. He is legitimately *that* bad.

Apparently Coach Bradley wants to see more of Gabbert. He is seeing "positive signs". He must have a sixth sense or something cause I sure don't see it.

Guys,, he just needs more time. Let him play the season out so it can be determined if he's the guy going forward or not. Gabbert still hasn't reached his ceiling.

I think we've witnessed Gabbert's last NFL start.

I seriously hope not...At least  not this year.  We're competing with Tampa...that's all that matters is that # 1 draft pick in the 14 NFL draft.

If we start Stanzi at any point this year, that's when we would cut him.. until then, there's no point..

I don't see why it wouldn't be, he's horrible, he has zero trade potential, cutting him could free up space to give someone off the streets some evaluation time as a potential backup next season.

I think Henne is better but it's not like we had close losses in Oakland or Seattle with him at QB.

Found Frenette's tweets to be interesting..

"Could be wrong, but I think Gabbert's last life line with #Jaguars is gone. If it didn't happen vs. Rams with Blackmon back, hard to see it."

and

"#Jaguars readers are done with Gabbert, it might not be long for his employer either"

Speculative, of course, but he has more access to Jags FO than anyone on this MB, and if he's getting the vibe that the Jags may be done with Gabs, it's certainly worth noting.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut a few games before the end of the season so we can start grabbing players off other team's practice squads.  Maybe someone like Tyler Wilson, or who knows - maybe Vince Young can be given a chance?  Doesn't really matter because we're going 0-16 and drafting Teddy.
