I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

That's fine and all, and I know the QB has been bad.  I saw him running from a clean pocket just like everybody else.  But I also saw a dropped TD pass, and 3 ints that bounced off receivers hands.  You just don't suck on this level alone, you need help to do that.

 

I wasn't trying to bash on Gabbert solely just using our team as an example. Yeah to suck this bad all levels of play have to be horrible but the qb position changes the team like no other in any sport.

If this stubborn GM would just swallow his pride and sign Timmy Tebow, he would turn this season around just like he did in Denver. He has the mobility and the skill set to do well with this offense. Also I believe Blackmon and several other players on this team could learn some things about character and commitment from this guy. Possibly even adopt his drug free lifestyle and spend less time in nightclubs and more time honing their skills.I know that's quite a foreign concept for these players to earn their salary but who knows. Tebow is an awesome leader!

Both. But Gabbert's problems have little to do with talent around him. He needs the Broncos O-Line and weapons to even be a competent QB.

Folks, Tim Tebow will never play another down as a QB in the NFL.  He isn't good enough to be on an Arena League team as a QB.  He can't throw.

Franchise QB's make the players around them better. If Peyton Manning was on this team....we win 10 games easily. The offensive line wouldn't have to hold their blocks for4 seconds, the WR's know 75% of the time when they're targeted that the ball would be delivered ACCURATELY.


We'll have the opportunity to draft a true FRANCHISE QB in the 14 draft, you'll see much improvement with this team.

 

 

Peyton Manning lead the Colts to the playoffs every year but his rookie season.  He got hurt and the Colts went 2-14. 

 

Its the QB. 

 

Tom Brady won the Super Bowl with Tim Dwight, Troy Brown, and a bunch of other Joe Blows.

 

Wes Welker was a dud with Miami.  Tom Brady and Peyton Manning make him a super star.

 

Matt Leinhart couldn't do diddly in Arizona, but Kurt Warner took them to the Super Bowl and almost won.

 

Trent Green never made the playoffs in St. Louis, but Kurt Warner came in a invented the GREATEST SHOW ON TURF.

 

 

Its the QB, and always will be the QB. 

 

Its not the O-Line, the RB's, or the WR's, or the TE's, or the FB's.   Its the QB

 

The defense is another story.  We are lacking a DE that can sack the QB around 15 to 20 times a season.

 

 

Yea because the old Colts teams always had great olines... Colts Olines always have been and still are atrocious.


Its the QB. An average QB needs a lot of talent around them to succeed. An all pro makes the players around him better.

Good point! I always struggle with where to put Eli Manning. He won 2 Championships but if he were the Jags QB they wouldn't be any better off.


Same is true for Big Ben.


In fact if Joe Flacco was there I think the Jags would still be 0-4.


Combined these 3 QBs have won 5 of the last 8 Super Bowls. They are regarded as Franchise Quarterbacks. And none of them would have kept the Jags from 0-4.



I think I change my mind. It's both. Even Rodgers and the Packers aren't doing great right now. And in the endless Manning/Brady debates the one fact that always stands out is the Pats going 11-5 with Matt Cassel.
