As for Dempsey and his cronies ... well, they like talking about some THEM.  Apparently their golf game/favorite childhood toys/favorite movie/ favorite toilet paper/fantasy football stats are SO INTERESTING!!!!

 

But at least Dempsey knows about some football.  But then he gets excited and starts sounding like a smarter version of Prosser, and I'm like "Even a Prosser who knows what he's talking about is still bad."

Modica is THE worst... he must have incriminating pictures of someone to have been able to snag that job, and hold his seat for this long. Him aside, the show itself is pathetic and amateurish. Sounds like a bunch of drunken guys rambling on at a sports bar. They offer ZERO insight. I'd be curious to see their ratings.

I enjoy Prosser and Hicken. Prosser is tolerable when Hicken is there to balance out the show. When Hicken is out, Prosser is simply too much to bear.

 

 

 

Yes, Hackers voice is "different", but I'll agree with others in that he puts in his work, and comes prepared for every show. I don't mind him at all.

 

 

 

Dempsy is solid too, but can be a bit too smug for my tastes at times.

 

 

 

Frangie is a mess. Thank goodness Rick is there to make the show somewhat listenable.

When you think about the amount of local shows in Jacksonville, it is amazing how terrible the quality is of most of these shows. This will be a tough one but who is the worst local personality?

 

In no particular order.

 

Hacker (worst voice on radio...in the world?)

Fat Tony (brings nothing to the Dempsey show)

Jeff Prosser (uncomfortably angry, most hateful definitely)

Tony Modica (replaced Prisco, does this guy own 930 or something?)

 

What say you?

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

I would put Hicken and (I'm not so sure why people dislike him) Hacker at the top of the list.  He knows a good deal at a broad range of sports.  I will give him credit for that.

 

Prosser can be draining at times, but I still love listening to them in the mornings.

I hate the news format where the live report throws back to the studio who then asks an inane follow up question to something that should've been covered in the report.

 

Reporter: "And now back to you in the studio."

 

Studio: "Reporter, did you talk to any of the police present at this 17 person shooting spree at the Avenues Mall and what did they have to say?"

 

Reporter: "I did, they say that all available resources are being utilized and civilians should stay out of the area until further notice. We're live on the Southside, Suzy Reporterette, Abominable News 32, your First By A Minute On The Scene news source."

 

And don't get me started on Radio News People dropping the articles from their sentences. Oy Vey!
