If the Draft were today who would we pick?

My point is drafting a free safety. Gipson hasn't done squat all year. Also Peppers is not worth a top 3 pick by a long shot.

I don't think he will go top 3, but I certainly see him going top 10 and possibly even top 5. He's very much worth a top 10 pick.

I disagree.

Gipson was playing pretty subpar before he left the Browns. I think he found a sucker.

Peppers in the same secondary as Ramsey is very intriguing to me.

Gipson is part of the 12th ranked defense that gets no pass rush. He isn't the problem...
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Garrett/Allen/Williams/Lawson. Finally fix this god awful pass-rush.

He doesn't have to be the problem to not be subject to an upgrade. We are 2-8, every position can be upgraded right now. Hooker could be the next ET/Ed Reed/Sean Taylor type playmaking FS at the next level I'm taking that all day over an average at best player like Gipson.

People said the same thing when we drafted Derrick Harvey and Dante Fowler. Nothing got fixed.

Except for the fact that none of them have the deficiencies that Harvey and Fowler have that make them unable to be edge-rushers at the next level.

that hardly matters and it's only in the minority amongst internet draftniks. Peppers is too small to be a true SS and too slow and deficient in coverage to be a true FS or CB. His best fit is as a severely undersized linebacker. And he hasn't even shown a knack for creating turnovers to overcome those limitations. That type of player is not worth a top 10 pick. I wouldn't even draft him in the first round altogether.

Not too small to be a SS.

Not that I would take Peppers top 5 or anything, but he's basically the same size as Landon Collins, so size isn't really an issue with him.

He's 6'1 and has the frame/athleticism to put on another 10 pounds without losing too much agility. What size do you think the average SS is?

As the guy above said Landon Collins is 6'0 220. Cyp is 6'0 220 at best. Rodney McLeod is 5'11 200, Eric Weddle is playing SS this year for the Ravens at 5'11 200.

He is not 6'1''/ Anyone who has met the dude in person will tell you he is 5'11'' top and apparently he tried to put on weight in the offseason and it affected his speed. The prototypical SS is at least 6'0'' and 220lbs. If Weddle is playing SS then it is not a traditional in the box safety. Anyone safety who is 200lbs playing SS is because the team is using two high free safeties and doesn't have to worry about that player being in the box.
