Jalen Ramsey holds Hopkins to 55 yards

I don't think Hopkins got the best of Bouye. The refs got the best of Bouye.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

The announcers were saying they weren't moving CBs. Each had a side and would cover whoever lined up across from them.
Btw, how many yards would Hopkins have had if he wasnt pushing off on every single route? Maybe none. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff.
Ramsey has the swag this defense so desperately needed, and a MUCH better supporting cast than years past. That guy is going to get PAID.

It seemed like the refs were just looking for any excuse they could to throw the flag whenever Hopkins got touched. And yet, Lee was interfered, harassed, and hacked, more often than not, and they barely bothered with that at all. Typical. Bouye did what he could, but there's only so much you CAN do when the WR is pushing off and getting away with it, and you're basically being called every time you so much as tickle him... But Ramsey, yeah. His hit against Hopkins in the second half, knocking the ball out of his hand and doubling him over out of bounds was a thing of beauty. Couple thoughts on this.
We have 2 really good CBs so now they'll be playing sides instead of Ramsey shadowing (it seems, game plans could change) Bouye was great... but 3 PIs is not great, can't put them all on the refs. I think Ramsey was on Hopkins for his scoring play (I could be wrong but he was the closest DB I saw to him)

Against Hopkins the refs should either pur their flags away or only call really bad cases of interference both ways because the guy is an offensive pass interference machine and I think it could be called against him just about every route he runs.

I had no clue he pushes off that much to create separation. The refs literally looked the other way but if AJ is fighting for his position they would call interference on him. The fact it took 2 PI calls and a bogus roughing the passer call to score showed me the refs wanted to help them out so bad. The team was just too good (09-11-2017, 11:24 AM)SeldomRite Wrote:(09-11-2017, 11:21 AM)Kane Wrote: Couple thoughts on this. Because they know offensive PI doesn't get called nearly as much. But they did flag him once for O PI... WRs and DBs alike grab and push trying to jockey for position. I'm not saying Bouye was trash by any means... he played very well. But you can't really put all 3 of his PIs on the refs. There were a lot of penalties on our D that were legit flags and were situations where normally they let the team back in the game. Can't fault the refs everytime a flag is thrown our way lol We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The play where Jalen reached over a guy to bat the ball away and then basically caught it on his way down (the ball got knocked away by another Jags player trying to make the pick also) was the most athletic play I've seen from a Jags corner since Rashean Mathis' glory days.
