Jags got the steal of the draft and it's not Fournette

A somewhat unheralded one at that. I know personally I was pissed we didn't take Forest Lamp instead with that pick. He's been extremely good in both facets of blocking.

When we picked Cam Robinson I hoped Forrest Lamp would suck. This year I don't have to worry about that because Lamp is on IR.

The Branden Albert situation was very concerning. I thought because Robinson mostly practiced with the backups or at guard he would not be fully prepared for the starting LT job. I like being wrong about him.

I'm thrilled the FO pulled the trigger and took him.

To get a quality left tackle outside of the first round is rare.

I can't even imagine how bad the Seahawks' front office must be kicking themselves right now, knowing that they could use all of the OL help they could possibly get. Wilson is running for his life every single week and Cam was sitting right there in their laps.

Maybe when they picked up Joeckel in free agency they felt like they had good depth, oops. In addition, they probably thought they were set with George Fant, but injuries happen. Good for the Jags tho

The interest we showed in Cam before the draft I think he was the Jags highest rated tackle. Plus, where they were projected before the draft means nothing. Where they were taken and how good they are playing is what makes them a steal.  Cam is playing like a top pick.  Not many tackles play as good as Cam so early, not to mention he has gone against some of the best defenders in the league week after week

By everyone I was referring to the draft analysts, not team executives, who by rule are only identified by conference and job title.
I would consider Mike Mayock a prominent draft analyst.  In his top 5 by position, his 4.0 April 27 ranking had Cam Robinson as the highest rated tackle.  Not "everyone" in the draft analysts had Cam rated below the players you referenced.  Cam Robinson has been a second round steal.

We got Cam and 4Nette in the same draft. I would say that's pretty good. Same as Ramsey and Myles.

I remember saying I would be OK with Cam Robinson at 5. (I wasn't a big fan of the idea of drafting a RB there....)
I was blasted...

Glad we got him in the 2nd.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.

You don't read between the lines that well. To get Cam and 4nette in the same draft means we got a steal. Both should have been gone on the 1st day and we were able to grab them both off the board.

I read most things literally. Often I can't read between the lines.

They didn't need him they signed Luke Joeckel to a 1 year deal ..... /sarcasm

I have watched some quarters of Seahawks and Joeckel is picking up right were he left off only now we don't have to deal with it.  Hooray bonus

Luke Joeckel is a guard up there, so they would have had both guys on the field together.

The only player I can think of to give him a run for his money is Hunt in KC.  That being said, for a LT playing like he has against Elite Talent in the second round?  Steal no other way to cut it.

In comparison the Joke taking second overall was abused like Tina Turner against average DE.  Tom knows his LTs. (drafting Boselli with his first pick)

If Jdub says that Cam wasn't a steal, then he wasn't a steal.

Jdub knows all..

I actually think Smoot has played pretty good given his little time on the field.

that is why I added sarcasm.  Thing is you can always use good players for your Offensive and Defensive lines.  Their loss is our gain.

When Albert retired, that was one of those gut check moments knowing that we'd be rolling with the rookie. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. The guy has more than exceeded expectations, and he plays with a little bit of nastiness to boot. The guy is an absolute steal where we got him considering he has all the makings of a long term franchise LT for this team, and we landed him in the 2nd round. Trading up one spot made sense to prevent anyone else from jumping in and grabbing him.

It's interesting that in Coughlin's first draft in 1995, he landed a franchise LT with his first pick. This time around, he doubled down and landed a premiere running back who is showing us what that looks like, AND a starting LT who is looking like the long-term anchor on the QBs blind side. It only took over a decade to find a viable replacement for Boselli, but Tom has now managed to do it twice.

Talk about symmetry!

In 1995, TC's first draft with the team, the team went LT and RB 1-2.

This year, TC first draft back for the team, the team went RB and LT 1-2.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

Cam and fournette have both been excellent.

I think we expected a little more from fournette off the bat, and to see Cam playing like a seasoned vet when we didn't even know if he would start is really impressive.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
