Is there any doubt we're drafting a QB?

Romo will teach him the art of breaking the collarbone.

Not if Dave is the GM.

I fully expect him to ride it out with Bortles and just try to build a stronger team around him

Quote:People were calling last years crop trash. Now look at Wentz, Dak, Kessler and even Goff might make a start soon. Once the draft approaches things change. Still early in college ball.

Who were these people? I thought last year's class was strong. I had Wentz as my #1 overall player. I also really liked Paxton Lynch, Kevin Hogan, Brandon Allen and Jacoby Brissett. Admittedly the jury is still out on those guys and I apparently whiffed on Dak Prescott, (I thought he'd be a bust), but I still felt it was a deep QB draft.

Way too old and fragile. Once he hit a certain point in his career, he goes on I.R. every time a defensive lineman looks at him.

Agreed.

Allen looked the part at Arkansas. He probably would benefit from seeing the field at some point, especially if all this garbage about Blake is legit.

Seems like if they draft a high round QB this early, it won't be Dave in charge, and I don't trust Shad to do what needs to be done and fire both GB and DC.

Dave will still be in charge. We'll see about Gus, but Dave isn't going anywhere.

Sign Romo as the starter. If he tanks or gets injured then Blake steps in.

Once Blake settles on a throwing motion that he's comfortable with, then he becomes the franchise. He seemed more poised when slinging it slightly side-armed Thursday night.

Why would anybody want Romo here? The guy is never healthy...never. And that's in back of a GOOD line.

Unfortunately, this team has many needs that may compete for the top rounds of the draft.  Yes, QB should be one of them, along with offensive line help.

then in his second game as a starter he gets sacked and out for the year

Really too early to tell. Depends on a lot of things.

Bellichek did not get where he is by trading a potential franchise quarterback when his starter has just a couple years left.

Not a bad idea actually. Bortles is trash. Not interested in trying to fix something so broken. Bortles shook his head all night on Thursday. Blake is not coming back to lead us anywhere.

Romo would start for 10 other teams before being a backup.

Draft a QB third round or later. Try to find your Dak Prescott/Kessler. We seem to have no luck in the early rounds.
