He's made a couple of nice grabs this year, but he's also dropped a lot of catchable balls. There's nothing wrong with him becoming a league average receiver. They have value. Can you name another team in the NFL that he would be starting on right now? Maybe the second receiver for the Giants who have their top 2 guys on IR. My fault for the dangling modifier. When I said he went undrafyed I was talking about Cole again. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! A good receiver gets open, is sure handed the majority of the time and makes difference-making/clutch plays at times. That's exactly what this kid has done lately. Give credit where due and just enjoy the season.

I believe Westbrook has much more upside. I'm enjoying the season very much, and I'm really excited about all the young talent we have. He did have a really nice catch on Sunday. I'm not insulting the kid, I just don't think he has as much upside as a lot of people in this thread due. Some comparing him to Jimmy Smith, and others saying he could be elite. To me that's just asinine at this point.
I like what I've seen from Cole so far. He looks to have another gear when he's able to catch and run. He's a long strider and doesn't look to have short area quickness but in space where he can get going he is good. Hopefully he keeps improving.

On to Cole, that catch and run was a thing of beauty, give Blake some credit, he put that pass on a rope and Cole did the rest, put the burners on and scored! I would pump the brakes on comparisons, but if he keeps it up it will be warranted moving forward. He has great speed and runs amazing routes, Keenan Mccardell has done wonders with these young Wrs. Imagine our 3 WR sets with Robinson, Westbrook, Cole and Lee or Hurns as our 4th. That is a stacked WR group. I feel Hurns will need to restructure or he may be a cap casualty, sham too because I like the way he plays. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I like Cole. I also like Westbrook. I even like Mickens.
But I also like Hurns, and Lee, and Robinson. There's no law that says we can't have all of these. If we make any changes to that list, I just don't know about Robinson. He's the only one who will not be under contract, and he will be very expensive.
No one takes the "next man up" mentality lightly in the NFL. It's your chance to make a name for yourself. You've worked your butt off. Go put it to practice and make a play.
No pain, no gain.

The thought of four-wide sets with A-Rob, Hurns, Westbrook and Cole next year is a wonderful thing.

What's the word on Lee and Hurns? Would be nice to get both back for the playoff push.
You can take any WR in the league and as long as you have a good QB, the WR will put up numbers.
Favre made Sidney Rice Brady made Welker Manning made Decker Manning made Stokely Brady made Tim Dwight The list goes on

Cole is doing most of his damage from the slot, coming on strong, healthy, and about 7 mil. cheaper. I think we trade or cut Hurns and use his money for A Rob. Just maybe though Dave will keep Hurns just in case we get the injury bug at the WR position. The thing I hate about this video is the idiot calling the game gives absolutely no credit to Cole, he just says the defender didn't make the play. It's like Cole lit the afterburners and just took off leaving the defender in his rearview. |
