Did Garbage Time Save Gus?

If Trump was our owner, Gus would be gone.

Quote:Khan has nowhere to go internally if he fires Gus during the season.

The whole coaching staff stinks.

I really think you're going to see Olson fired in the next few days.

Gus stays.

Usually the new HC fires the old guy's assistants to bring his own guys in.

Coughlin still want the gig?  Try him out for the rest of the year

Khan won't admit he was wrong but not firing Gus last year.

Khan will find some angle to appease the fans, ie, fire Olson.

Coughlin still wants to coach somewhere. He never named a team preference.

This is a 2 time SB winning coach you are talking about, not a drunk fan in the Bud Zone who won a "coach the team for a half" contest by throwing a football through a tire ring.

You don't "try out" Coughlin, LMBO.

I don't think that would appease anyone on this board or in Jax

Even the Gus Bus kicked Gus to the curb. This team is a mockery of pro football and that's putting it lightly. Now all eyes are on the organization to see if it even cares about credibility and upholding its end of the bargain. The fans and city has been more than patient.

No pain, no gain.

Understood.

But Khan has consistently botched things since taking over. Why would he stop now?

since 2010 patient.  Freaking mind boggling this organization was better off with Del Rio with Gene Smith's draft picks.  Freaking crazy.

If Oehser isn't included in the firing, not sure if it will make a difference to be honest.

It's a question of credibility.

I get that statistics show there's not an immediate benefit of firing a coach mid season...

But there IS a message to the fans.

A message of "I will NOT accept this".

It matters.

Gus simply had to go.

No coaching change according to Khan.

You just can't keep him.

The team quit in the 2nd quarter.  If you can't see that, then what are you doing?

Dion Sanders and Bill Cowher basically called out the organization.  If you don't fire him, then you make the entire organization look like fools.

Fire him.  Let the rest of the team know the next 9 games are a tryout for the next coach.

It's time for these candy butts to know shut thier mouths and know their roles...

What else has Khan botched? He hired Caldwell. He showed commitment to Jacksonville by opening his wallet. He only made one big mistake and is starting to realize it.

Look it isn't about wins and losses. Trust the process. You have to break some eggs to make an omelet.  These are just growing pains.  The team likes Gus and want to win for him. If the fans would just cheer louder and shut up...... skies the limit yo!!
