Oh sure... he's awesome depth.

Cann just lacks sheer power. He gets no push in the run game and we'll get tossed aside by stronger D-linemen when he's trying to pass protect. He's technically sound, and that makes up for a lot. Basically, he's the exact opposite of Hernandez who is all power but hasn't picked up any sound technique.

And that criticism would be wrong considering he was 11th in attempts this past season. Brady was 1st and he only had 58 attempts more than Bortles. Brady was sacked 35 times this season.

Below are Bortles' attempts and sacks per season. I think this shows pretty clearly that progress is being made on both sides, OL and Bortles.

2014 - 475 attempts - 55 sacks (in 13.5 games)

2015 - 606 attempts - 51 sacks

2016 - 625 attempts - 34 sacks

2017 - 523 attempts - 24 sacks

I'd actually go the opposite way and say Canns big issue is his technique. He's a strong guy but his set up in pass blocking is awful. Watch how he moves his feet and hands reacting to a pass rusher. He's all over the place.

Same thing with the run game. He has good power but his punch and technique are so sloppy he's never able to get any leverage.
