If a free agent was dominant at their position before the arrived here, don't you have to look at coaches (or lack-thereof)? Either your coaches are trash, which I think they are OR your scheme doesn't fit the strengths of the FA you signed. Either way, its a blunder on the FO and/or coaching.

Blake was bad in year 1 and he's playing terribly in year 5...the entire league knows he's trash....but our front office and coaching staff still wanna play him? WHY?

Why would we NOT be trying out every QB possible? Blake is NOT IT! WE KNOW THIS! I'm sure we all know the definition of insanity right? That's Doug and Dave continuing to think Blake is gonna be anything else than an INT throwing, poor decision making, inaccurate, NON GAME WINNING DRIVE QB!!! It baffles me that we have people who are paid millions that still fail to realize how horrible he is and do nothing about

He did not pull BB5 for his poor perfromance. He stated that if he could he would have benched all 11. but he wanted to make a statement to the entire team that they all suck and can all be replaced. And the one position that gets that statement across to everyone is benching the QB. Now that is what the coach said. You can either beleive that or believe the many many of so called experts that tell you he did it cause the offensive troubles are purely on BB5.

I disagreed with Bortles’ extension at the time, but I can at least see what they were thinking in doing it rather than letting him play on the option this year. He had just come off of a somewhat impressive December and January and helped get them within minutes of the super bowl. It wasn’t enough of a trend in his performance for me to want to extend him but I can see they were thinking that if that trend did happen to continue, they’d have Bortles locked up at a reasonable amount for the next 3 years during their Super Bowl window and they’d be able to keep most if not all of their other ascending pieces. They also wrote the contract in a team friendly manner that allows them to part ways as soon as next season.

They made a calculated bet and hedged it with the offset language and their bet appears to have been wrong. Front offices make mistakes sometimes, even good ones. Some credit should be given, however, for how the contract was written though. The front office isn’t inept and Doug Marrone still has a winning record here and 3-4 is the 2nd best start this franchise has had since 2010. There’s a lot of football left to be played and we’re still very much in control of our own destiny. Teams that run the ball well and play good defense tend to fare well in the post season. We’re getting Hyde this week and Fournette back soon after that. We’re clearly going to attempt to impose our will on the ground going forward. Let’s see what happens over the next 4 or 5 games and revisit where we are then before proclaiming it needs to be burned to the ground.

Last year was great, and not a sane person will deny that, but realistic fans saw:

1. The schedule was very weak
2. Every starting QB in the division was on IR outside of our very own.
3. We peaked when it mattered

The FO rested on their laurels in the off-season and did nothing to improve. The odds of all 3 things above happening at the same time are about the same as hitting the power ball.

Absolutely. If we can get to the bye 4-4 that's ok. Could be better but with the injuries and tough games in KC and Dallas, it's ok.

The bolded part is the problem - there is no evidence of some people's support of the team. They appear to only be negative nancies here to offload their misery on everyone. I'm fine with people being upset over how the year has gone. It sucks that we were so close last year, and appear to be a completely different franchise this year. I can call Doug, Dave, Shad, Blake, Oesher, whoever, any name in the book, that won't help the team, nor will it make the season any more or less enjoyable for you. It won't foster discussion on this board. If you just want to scream into the void, type out every word you want to utter, and then cancel the post.

I've done it a number of times myself. Saying that, I really I am probably just screaming into my own void on this matter.
