My gut feeling is Dwayne Gratz is either going to be claimed on waivers or signed by another team in the next month after a Tryout.   Gratz clearly didn't pan out the way the Jaguars hoped.  But when factoring in demand for CBs in the NFL being higher than supply,  Gratz being relatively young,  his former 3rd Round pick pedigree,   and the Jaguars having one of the better CB situations in the NFL,  I think Gratz is going to resurface.    The odds are against Gratz turning things around that reflect a former 3rd Round pick.   But players with far less ability have received more than one opportunity in the NFL.

Agreed gratz can play a role he did here for a while we are just overly talented ay that position and there's no way he was seeing the field again. It's a good problem to have but also a moment to pause when you reflect how bad we did in that first draft.

  Based on a consensus of draft projections,  it was much more likely that Dwayne Gratz would be drafted in the top part of the 3rd Round than it was for Tyson Alualu to be drafted with pick # 10 three years earlier.    All it takes is one team to give Gratz an opportunity based on the possibility (  even if it's not unlikely )  they will catch lightening in the bottle. 

 

  For most teams though that might have interest in Gratz,   he could potentially improve their depth at CB,

I could see the Ravens giving him a shot. Man, they are bad at defensive back (only 1 guy worth a darn,, Jimmy Smith).

Gratz was still blowing coverages in his 4th year in the same defense. Either he has rocks for brains or he doesn't care to focus on the playbook or his assignments. If other coaches around the league watch the tape and pick up on this, ol bubblegum will stay unemployed. Hopefully for his sake he works harder in his next line of work.

We're talking about an NFL player that tried to pay for something with gum. I think it's safe to say he's pretty dumb.

Because Dave was scouting and evaluating players at his previous job too, he just wasn't the GM, but he was looking at and evaluating the same players that Gene and his scouts, and 30 other teams were looking at and evaluating...

I wish him well, but I must admit, when I first read that Gratz had been waived to make room for Colvin, I smiled for a few seconds.
