We all love his moxie and attitude, but he doesn't scream franchise QB.

With that said, i'm all for us not winning another game this year. This team is frustrating to watch.

People were way too quick to crown him.  He's a great guy.  But this team is so desperate for competent QB play that they'll fall in love with whoever the Jags have as starter as long as it's not the last guy to fail.  Minshew is easy to like, but I don't think he's the answer to this team's questions at the position.  I wish he was, it'd make things so much easier.  But I think he's a bit too inconsistent.  He won't make big mistakes, but he also won't make the big plays we need to win consistently.

The fanbase is just so desperate for something to be excited for.  And Shad Khan hasn't given us much.  So everyone drinks the teal kool-aid and wears their teal shades.  Hope's all this team has right now.  It's just too bad for this year it looks to be false hope.

I have also come to this conclusion. He's a middle of the road NFL q.b. at best. If they have the opportunity to get someone like Lawrence or Fields, they need to do it.

the team has talent, and has had talent in the past. the problom is the HC ruins the good players. He ruind any decent qb jags ever had.  Minshew has great potiontial to be a great qb.  Put minshew with a HC like belchick, and see what happens. we will see tommorrew night when hoyer has his best carrer game ever tommorrew night. doug needs to be fired.

There is very little hope left. They didn't have to announce or show the # of tickets renewed, but from what I know it was not good. That was even before covid. I had the head of the business side calling and wanting to meet in person at the stadium to discuss our issues with renewing and see what they could offer.

From what I heard, the 25 year season ticket holders were fed up with the team and the owner's actions. Next year is going to be brutal and the season tickets may be as low as 20,000 if more people bail.

A complete cleansing and culture change is needed.  You can't fire ownership, but they need to remove everyone involved in Football Operations (coaches, scouts, etc) from the building at year's end.
This is a results-oriented business.  There are no trophies or titles given for "moral victories" or for "winning the draft".  Our record with DC is 37-86.  6-10 is our 2nd best season in 8 years of Caldwell leadership.  These are the FACTS.

After another loss I'm always amazed at the number of posters that think all we need is a franchise QB.  I must admit I would agree with these posters if we get a franchise QB next year and he can also block rushing linemen while passing and he is able to switch to the defensive side and play CB, DE, Tackle, and Safety.  I'm not saying Gardner is the answer but this team is bad at most positions and without a good core of skilled players around him he will not be successful.

If this trend continues at the end of the season any coach who's team lost to the jaguars will be fired. Right now the Texans can't wait to play us next week. We seem to have the ability to make average players have career games AGAINST us...

The 0-4 Texans are brutal right now and have clearly regressed from last season.  Everyone in their city is calling for O'Brien's head on a platter.  They just got beat soundly at home by another winless team today.  And they are going to WAX us next week... that's how bad WE are.  But Caldwell is only in Year 8 and needs more time.

Just wanted to say Chark is the real deal. And we will win some games this year.

Henderson needs to stop playing half of the game.

I like Chark.  But if you are ranking all the receivers in the League, he is not in the Top 15 for #1 receivers.

I agree.  We need to give Caldwell at least another decade because you know, he didn't really know what he was doing the first few years, then he had Coughlin, then some bad luck.  Eventually he has to get better.  Just have to be patient.

I hear he stubbed his toe the day before each draft. maybe we hire someone to stop this madness..?

Yeah we will run into a few wins. Just enough so we don't get any of the top QBs.

Lets say we get the 8th pick and the 20th pick.

How many people would trade that package for the #1-3 overall pick to get either Lawrence (unlikely) or Fields?

I don't think anyone selecting #1 will trade out of it. But hypothetically speaking.

We will be drafting in the Top 5. I'm guessing we will have picks 3 and 13... something like that.

Depends if a 3rd QB emerges for the top 10. I mean right now who is definitely taking a QB? Jets (Dump Darnold)? Falcons(Ryan is 36)? Football Team(Dump Haskins)? Broncos(Dump Lock)?
