The fact that Olson in his pressor blamed alignments on his ridiculous screen play for not working makes me believe without a shadow of a doubt that we will see the screen called early and often. I dislike his greasy head more than dopey Gus and Todd "soft soap" Wash.

Handoff to yeldon, 1 yard gain

First play is a play action. I would almost bet my house on it.

Because play actions work best when you haven't established a running game and screens work best when everybody knows they're coming!

Our OC first instinct now is "what do they think we WON'T do", which really means they think they will do it and be prepared for it.

First play is play action fake of some sort. Guaranteed!

I know. I figured since it's the only play that does work Baltimore game plans against it and takes it away from us. In the meantime Gus stands on the sidelines with a pencil and paper drawing up our next play like this:

If Ivory is getting the start I expect him to have a run on the first play. Hopefully for a decent chunk of yards without any flags.

If it goes for a decent chunk of yards, there will be a flag.

So...petition to change thread title to: Name the nature of the penalty on the first play...

I'm going with illegal formation.

Total aside:

We picked Leftwich over Suggs. In fact, if Minnesota hadn't screwed up their pick they would have picked Leftwich and Suggs would have been the next guy on the Jaguars board.

Haha hadn't thought of that in a long, long time.  I remember falling out of my chair laughing when the Vikings totally missed their pick. The funniest result was during contract negotiations the players agent was arguing that they "would have picked him higher" while Minnesota said "but we didn't!" over the total contract money. Resulting in a long holdout over the rookie contract.

Please, and thank you.

I can tell you what, as far as the first play on defense I could see Steve Smith Sr. trying to blow up the Ramsey and Ramsey retaliates and gets hit with a 15 yarder. Smith Sr. smiles and says I got you rook. I feel like they are going to be talking back and forth all game. Certainly will be fun to watch.

Quote:Two tight end set, play action, screen to Marcedes. The girafee goes for 12 yards, crowd goes wild, but there is a holding penalty on the Joke. First official play is a throw to Yeldon for -3 yards.

99% chance this happens
