Malik Jackson Laughs

Quote:Nope... flamers gotta flame.

As soon as the team starts doing bad we get the same posts every season.

"X Free agent, paid too much, DC fails again"

"Bortles is a bust"

"Whats wrong with Robinson"

"fire everyone"

Took 2 games this season. I'm setting the over under at 1.5 for next season.

If we lose the opener next season it will be "Our new coach is worse than Bradley was!"

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

Do you not agree with something having to be done? I don't think anything is really wrong with the first 3 but the last one doesn't seem to be a bad thing.

Yep.

"Why'd we hire THIS guy, we should've hired THIS guy"

"Khan hates us"

I am willing to give Jackson more than 2 games before judging him, but not having a Miller/Ware to "finish" the disruption he is causing does not help his case in the eyes of the casual football viewer.

"fire everyone" will continue no matter who is coaching... that's the point.

I'm about as apathetic to the coaching situation as you can get right now.

Agree. I think Fowler and Yannick have played better than I expected... relying on just rookies for your pass rush is tough.
No commercial messages in sigs

I mean we all agree that something is wrong with our team and we having to get something fixed though. People just have different opinions on what. I just don't get the hate on this board when everyone blows up. Then we have people commenting saying these kind of things because its as if you're annoyed that people want things to change because what we are doing now is not working

People aren't annoyed that others want change. Ideally, a message board is a place for people of similar interests to discuss a common interest. What is annoying is that some posters complain for the sake of complaining. Or others who complain about certain aspects of the team even if it is plain obvious that they have no idea what they are talking about. After this debacle of a game vs. the Chargers, here's some examples:

*Malik isn't disruptive enough

*Fowler isn't finishing

*note* Malik had several pressures vs. SD, one leading to a Fowler sack. The other Fowler sack was caused by blitz pressure (IIRC, it was Poz).

Here's another gem: "linebackers are linebackers. There's no difference. Just play them."

Are defensive backs just defensive backs too? How about defensive tackles?

There's been a few others as well.

Everyone has a right to complain. But if you want to have an actual discussion, bring legitimate points to the table. As it is, this board very often becomes nothing more than a sounding board for complaints rather than an avenue for debate and discussion.

I wonder how Dave feels about this? Pays a guy 90 mil to be on the sideline, drafts a top 5 player to be on the sideline etc. The reason he brought these guys in is to change this D. Fowler on the sideline a good bit. Dave cant be happy

As I said in another thread, PFF had Malik as our highest-rated defensive player in the San Diego debacle.  Singled him out for praise.  We have problems, but he's not one of them.

You're crazy.  I'll take the under.

The way under.

There are people who have threads created before preseason, just itching to hit "POST" 1/2 way through the 1st quarter of the 1st preseason game.

Quote:I believe Malik might be here on vacation. Have not been impressed at all with his presence on the field yet. I heard the interview and later he commented on how much he liked Gus and just wants to be able to give and do more for the team. Well Malik, the fans want that as well.

He had 5 hurries against the Chargers and made Fowlers sack. That's his job.

As much as I hate to, I'm gonna have to rewatch the SD game, because I don't remember a single sack on Rivers.  I guess I'll have to watch it undrunk this time...gonna be painful.

Malik is doing just fine.

Why he didn't play more in the second half last week mystifies me.

Dumb move by Wash.

Hes done fine thus far IMO, I still believe he was over paid but he has been doing his job for the most part in such a short amount of games played thus far this season.

As others have said, Malik has played fine.

If you're expecting him to get 10-15 sacks then yes you're going to be disappointed. He's not that type of player.

He's a disrupting player and we saw that last week. He's going to push into the pocket and make the QB have to move hopefully leading to a sack or resulting in the QB to have to rush the throw.

Didn't one of Fowler's sacks last week come as the result of Malik pressuring Rivers up the middle?

I wont argue that. Sports money is no doubt insane, but I feel this might be a whole nother topic....

I suppose I also must subject myself to re-watch this game. I do not recall Malik having much impact. I can't say I was of a very good mindset after the Chargers ran it down that D-lines throat on the first drive though. Whatever impact you all saw I think we can agree it has to be more.
