Hire Harbaugh!

#21

People love to forget Harbaugh had Kaep playing at pro bowl level. He also saved Alex Smith career and made him a decent QB.

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

If you can’t get Bieneimy or a young hot shot head coach (think Lafleur, McVay, Stefanski etc.), you get Harbaugh.

You mean like the Patriots hiring Belichick after he got fired from the Browns?

Last I checked, Andy Reid was fired from the Eagles as well.

You really can't argue with Harbaugh's results. He turned SF into a Super Bowl contender with Alex Smith and Kaepernick, and the team promptly fell apart after he left.

We should know why that happened before we make a decision to hire him.

Harbaugh tends to wear out his welcome in a handful of years. I wouldn't be opposed to him. We could certainly do worse.

You make a strong argument for bringing back the -1 rep.

He was fired because of an internal dislike from the FO.

I'm with you.  I would most certainly be down with a Harbaugh and Fields tandem next year with Minshew the backup (because he's awesome!). Although, Wilson is gaining traction as our 2nd overall pick... Let's see?
Then after three years they hate him and the team falls apart and he packs his bags and goes elsewhere where it happens all over again.  This is what is happening to him in Michigan.

DING DING DING

The guy fell into a fantastic defense, and got to the SB. He doesn't develop any of his prospects, and he bounces as soon as the novelty wears off.

Maybe the strongest argument against? The dude brought in Jedd Fisch to help Michigan's offense.

Dude, did you not read the story about it? It wasn’t about his performance as a coach. It was a clash he had with ownership. Jed York has too much of an ego to allow Harbaugh to get the control he wanted.. so he fired him. It had literally nothing to do with his coaching ability. I’m sure Shad would have no problem with Harbaugh taking the reigns in order to get things done. You need to do a little more reading my man.

He also hired McElwain at Michigan, ugh. However, this would be a better hire than most. Clashes with ownership would prob never happen, since Khan is barely engaged as it is. Find a GM that can work with him. Please, no more experiments, or first time coaches. Get someone experienced. This team doesn't have the margin for error or fan loyalty of established franchises to screw around for another 3 years and show no improvement in W-L record.

I think Gus has learned his lesson and earned another shot. His defensive performance against the Patriots yesterday backs up the data.

Gus for HC!

The guy got teams to NFC conference games and a Super Bowl with Colin Kaepernick as his starter.

You want the guy who could only win two games at Michigan this year, despite several good recruiting classes?

While Khan is still counting his money, I hope he becomes more involved and hires a good Head Coach. I’m not sure how I feel about Jim, but he has a good record in the NFL that is a fact.

I'd love for Dungy to come out of retirement but there is no way he passes up on his lucrative deal with NBC.

SC1, who are some of your potential coaches that you want to see get hired here - and why?

I've seen you address most of these threads with a bland answer, so I'm curious who you are enthusiastic about - regardless if we make the right choice or not.
