Correct, but that is far from the situation we find ourselves in.

Lol, sez you.

A democratic republic with separation of powers is best governed by compromise and consensus.

But voters here have come to believe that government is about defeating and humiliating enemies.  And they vote people in with a similar mindset.  And cycles of petty revenge become common, with actual governing on the back burner.

But even though the quality of government is poor, the Constitution is still in effect, and we still choose our government by voting with a peaceful transfer of power.

When the man elected in 2016 tries to stop the peaceful transfer of power for the first time in over 200 years, those in power in 2021 and 2022 should be doing everything in their power to prevent him from ever tasting power again.

For the nth time, what court (or impartial fact-finding body) has provided conclusive proof of this claim?  You desperately want it to be true but there is simply no supporting evidence.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

You're revolting, but are you actually rebelling in some way?

We saw it with our own eyes.
On live TV.
He told them to go there.
They broke in and tried to capture people and occupy both chambers.  They had a gallows with Mike Pence's name on it.
We know Trump watched it on live TV.
We know that Trump's own allies in Congress acknowledged, at the time, that Trump had sent those people.
We know Trump let it go on and on for 3 hours before he gave up.
He might get charged in court for his role, who knows?
But we already know what he did.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Trump was giving a speech while this started. There was no time for anyone at the speech to get there. It was antifa and cia/fbi/etc there that were setting the people up. Then the cops let them in. Look at the cameras inside showing all the non-existent damage and people staying in the areas between the ropes.

There were some other element there also who took laptops but those stories have seemed to die with no one knowing where they are.
