People are working hard now and can't afford to buy a house. In some cases there are no houses to buy. My dad's house went on the market and was sold in less than 48 hours. That screams investor buying, not a legitimate home buyer, and now it's one less house available to be bought instead of rented.

I get about one spam call a week asking if I'm ready to sell my house.  It's not for sale, not even close.  The calls started a couple of months ago.  Does anyone else have this problem?

I've had that issue for the past couple of years. They've taken to sending me mail via USPS. I ignore it in any form.

I get weekly mail, daily text messages and daily voicemails on offers for our house. Cash outright. House as is.

I bought it in 2012 for a little north of $92,000 and it's worth $366,780 at the moment. I bought mine during a buyer's market where the interest rates were incredibly low.

I wish I had known more at 24 that I know now at 34. I kick myself for not buying a condo or townhome for even less on top of this house. Could have rented this out for 3x it's worth in what I pay monthly now.

Thing is. I am fortunate. I don't take it for granted now in this market. Especially in this area with a toddler where he could easily walk to school for his Elementary and Middle School days in the near future.

I just feel bad though for a lot of people. My family included. The American Dream has been bleeding now for years. I get it. That "dream" is different for everybody.

However, that dream typically involves a sense of indenpendence and flying one's nest that they grew up in for years. It's always been a landmark or staple of saying "Well, I made it". Even tiny homes, living off grid, etc.

That also becomes increasingly difficult to achieve with this current market. If that bubble ever pops again though? Man. I am doubtful you'll ever see another buyer's market like we saw a decade or more ago.

Investors invest. Housing is a premium. When you start buying up neighborhoods at wholesale? You're not flipping that investment. You're doubling down on a bottomless well of untapped power of a landlord's market. There's nothing there in place to stop anybody from increasing that expense towards a renter.

Interesting to see what the next few years brings us as a whole.

If I had a nickel for every piece of mail, phone call or text message I have been getting over the past several years, I’d be able to pay cash for another house! Laughing

I bought my house here in riverside before it was the “cool” place to live and they basically couldn’t give them away at the time. An episode of Cops was filmed down the street shortly after we moved in. Now my house is worth at the very least, 10X what we paid for it. People searching the county records think they can offer me whatever and I’ll jump at it because it’s more than what we bought it for. Screw them! I know what it’s worth, especially after we gutted it and totally restored it to its former glory. If anyone is going to make bank on my house…it’s going to be me! Banana
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Between phone, text and email, i get 5 to 10 per day, excluding weekends.

I sold my last house using one of the online buyers. It was great for what I needed and the offer was about $8,000 less than it ended up selling for. I also saved on fees, so it was close to the same and not having to deal with showings and trying to sell before closing on my house I was having built.

I'm sure everyone is getting them now. It's a great time to sell if you have a place to stay and wait out the bubble if it ever ends and if the investors stop buying everything.
