Probably most of that is due to the Medicaid expansion that Obama did.  Went from a program for the poor to a program for the poor and  the lower middle class.

Inflation in medical costs drove that.  It used to be reasonable to expect the lower middle class to get medical insurance through an employer, but medical costs went up faster than wages did.  And a lot of that was driven by the AMA lobbying Medicare and hospital conglomerates to limit the number of residency placements that would be available.  So wages for MDs went up faster than wages for others during that time.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
