Migrants bussed to sanctuary city Chicago are promptly shipped off

No progress will be made on this problem while Biden is President.

I'm not optimistic that there will be any new immigration laws under Biden either, but I wouldn't rule it out.  Biden believes that Obama wasted a lot of goodwill and time on this issue and he will avoid repeating that mistake.

I think you probably agree with me that Texas' action is numerically very small, just a few hundred people getting bussed out of hundreds of thousands of recently arrived illegal immigrants.  I think you agree that it is just symbolic and meant to teach a lesson.  I think where we disagree is whether symbolic attempts to teach lessons are useful or not. Chicago may stop presenting itself as a sanctuary city, yes, but that won't change federal law nor will it cause Texans or Chigagoans to start sending different-minded people to Congress.

There's no reason why a hundred can't become a hundred thousand, it's just transportation logistics.  Greyhound has plenty of busses and Amtrak is a great option, "ALL ILLEGALS ABOARD, NEXT STOP SANCUARY CITY!".
The symbolism does more than teach a lesson (Personally, I think the Left in Chicago and other "sanctuaries" are too dumb/closeminded to learn), it inspires hope in the people of Texas and beyond, people who came here legally, that their government places their rights and security above all others.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Republicans are making a mistake. Hispanics have never been more open to voting Republican. Take advantage of this influx by sending them to special indoctrination centers and teaching them to embrace conservative values (which they already do, anyways). Help them accommodate, and you have a voting base for life. Republicans need to start playing the game. We're already spending recklessly... why not go all in?

Millions of illegal aliens are streaming across our border unchecked along with enough Chinese fentanyl to kill every American many times over. Human traffickers are victimizing women and children while the drug cartels operate with impunity within our country. All of this is happening as a direct result of the willful negligence by the current administration and its democrat cohorts in Congress and the MSM as the cities who declared themselves sanctuaries for these people turn them away and complain about their presence.

And how do two of the posters in this thread react? As they stare glassy-eyed through the din of hypocrisy, victimization and death, they can only respond in a heavy slow voice of brainwashed numbness, "But the Republicans..." The obsinate self disillusionment and refusal to acknowlege the truth is astounding.

It sure did, and it attempted to address it by building a wall and negotiating a 'remain in Mexico' agreement. Something the hypocritical democrats resisted at every turn. Illegal immigration and fentanyl drug seizures have broken every record since Brandon was elected. The border is completely out of control and this administration has no plans to address it. One would think the sanctuary cities would be welcoming the opportunity to take on the uncontrolled flow of immigrants that their party created. Instead, they turn them away or complain because they're cheap, lip-servicing hypocrites.

By the way, have you advised your children to stay away deadly fentanyl pills disguised as candy? That disgusting lack of regard for life is supremely representative of what the Chinese and drug cartels think of the idiot democrats who abet these dangerous policies.

The remain in Mexico idea was sound and would have been something to build on.  Biden is making a mistake ending it.  But it's not quite ended yet, so any increase you're seeing in bad stuff under Biden so far is not caused by ending remain in Mexico.
That said, I hope you can agree with me that remain in Mexico, along with other updates, should have been codified by Congress so that Biden couldn't change them so easily.  Perhaps so that Biden wouldn't even want to, if things were going well enough.  This is the main idea of the story.  Congress needs to act so that the issue is not so dependent on who is in the White House anymore.

Oh..... It is to laugh....... As one Border Town Sheriff put it...... "Welcome to our world".........

Border sheriffs slam DC mayor, officials for declaring emergency over migrant buses: 'They have seen nothing'
Washington, DC has so far been sent approximately 10,000 migrants from Texas and Arizona since April

Sheriffs dealing with the crisis at the southern border are taking aim at Washington D.C. for declaring a public emergency over the migrants that have been bused into the sanctuary city by Texas and Arizona -- and bristling at claims that the buses have turned D.C. into a "border town."

"They have seen nothing. They are not a border town. They don't know what a border town is," Goliad County, Texas, Sheriff Roy Boyd told Fox News Digital.

Burr Ridge is one of the wealthiest towns in Illinois so I'd have to think they are doing the immigrants a favor.  That's pretty much like Jacksonville shipping immigrants off to the Hilton Garden Inn in Ponte Vedra Beach and Fox reporting Jacksonville is hypocritical.

Burr Ridge had an annual per capita income of $81,000 and an average home value of $679,000 based on a 2020 Census report.  I'm sure that home value is up toward $1m given the 20%+ home value increases over the past 2 years.

You’re trying bravely to deflect the truth by muddling it down with pedantry. Whatever remnant of that policy which remains is completely irrelevant. As soon as Biden entered office he let it be known that the border was wide open. From that day forward, record after record of illegal crossings and drug seizures have been set.

Your argument is akin to an engineer standing in the rubble of a destroyed house and proclaiming the house isn’t destroyed because it was built to be earthquake proof.

If federal law enforcement is disregarding orders from the Supreme Court and other federal courts, we have bigger problems.

Bless your heart. You’re trying so hard. It’s making me tear up a little. (whew, fanning face)

You keep trying. I know one day you will convince someone of whatever argument you’re attempting, ‘fellow Conservative’.

It's ok to get mad about a completely corrupt government that is tearing down years of progress in the name of progress and redistributing the wealth of the middle class into the hands of the upper class in the name of equity.

Oh the sweet sweet irony........

llinois calls up National Guard to handle migrants, Chicago wants federal money diverted from Texas
Lightfoot criticized for sending immigrants to nearby Chicago suburbs without warning local officials3

Illinois Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced he is deploying 75 National Guard members to deal with the influx of migrants being bussed to Chicago from Texas.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has continued to send buses of migrants to Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago to draw attention to the ongoing immigration crisis.
