Because very been a fan since the inaugural year and I have too many years invested in this franchise.  I'm not a bandwagon fan or I would of jumped ship years ago.  I'm also a Gator fan, Marlins fan, and Magic fan and they all suck.  With that said I'm more Jags than anything because I follow NFL the most and I go to more Jags games and Jag gear than anything

A win is better than a loss. No one, and once again, I emphasize NO ONE is saying otherwise.

If you are talking about standings and playoff position, then I also agree that a loss is a loss.  However, I try to watch the game as a scout would.  Looking exclusively at wins and loses is a simplistic approach.  A scout would absolutely look at how the team played.  Our two wins were decisive.  As for our losses, every single one has been extremely close:

Commanders - We were down 1 score with the ball with 1:46 left in the game.

Eagles - We were down 1 score with the ball with 1:54 left in the game.

Texans - We were down 1 score with the ball with 3:11 left in the game and 0:46 left in the game.

Colts - We had the lead with 23 seconds left in the game.

Giants - We were literally 1 yard away when time expired from tying the game and the extra point for the win.

It's not about being "happy" with a loss.  I'm not.  It's about assessing the team.  It's about asking the question "how difficult would it be to turn our loses into wins?"  In the cases above, not difficult at all.  One player or possibly even one play could have turned around almost all of those games from loses into victories.  When you regularly lose by 2, 3, 4, or 5 scores, that's not the case.  How the team plays is important in assessing a team.  My assessment is that this team is fairly close to be highly competitive.  

In summary, I'm disappointed with out record, but largely positive about our future.

We need to STOP going for it on 4th and 1. Point blank. We never convert them and haven’t since like 2017. We have an All Pro RG we broke the bank for … that we don’t run behind. We have a rookie center and a backup LG, if we can’t control the interior gaps how do we expect to convert short yardage when the opposing DLine controls our A Gaps and we get zero push.

This isn’t a “learn how to do it” or get experience to improve at something we’re weak at to turn it into a strength. It’s a lack of self awareness as a team and as a HC. It kills drives and takes points off the board, we are not good enough to impose our will on another team yet.

I actually like that Doug is aggressive, but there's a time and a place. He has to kick that FG from their 20 yard line on that 4th and 1. It would have put us up 7 points in the 4th. We aren't the Chiefs or Bills. You gotta take the points in that situation of the game. Especially considering the Giants went right down the field and scored a TD after that turnover on downs. Would of been tie at 20-20, instead of us being down 17-20.

Etienne is a stud just secure the rock. And his drop on 4th down against Washington just stinks.

As far as Pederson goes, I’m very happy with what he’s doing. It’s not like we have a team full of All Pros, but we’ve been right there in every game with a chance to win. It’s good to have stability at the top for a change.

I disagree with a hole at every position. QB, LB, RB, kicker and special teams, Oline are sufficient. Depending on what they do with Engram and Arnold, I would even say the TE spot is fine. I would give anything to have a Jamar Chase on this team or a DJ Moore, along with a playmaker in the secondary.

This right here. This bunch for the most part was a 1 win team last year. The coach is doing a phenomenal job and if not for self inflicted wounds this could be a 1 loss team easily. We have been in every game and blew out some decent teams when we aren't in our own way. I hate games like we've seen this year (close and lose by silly stuff) but it sure as hell beats being down 30-3 by the end of the 3rd week in and week out like we've seen for the majority of the last decade.

For me the biggest thing holding us back right now is the mental errors, penalties and execution. When we limit the mistakes and execute well we get games like the Chargers game, when we don't we get games like the last 4. I put this down to a young roster, playing a 1st year together with a 1st year coaching staff. Maybe all the doomsayers are right, time will tell.

But I thought the O played well today. The run game is a real strength that we need to use more. We are moving the ball well, sadly the lack of turnovers keep giving us long fields to drive. But we had the Etienne fumble which hurt us, the turnover on downs hurt us. I love Dougs aggressiveness but we need to add points on the board  I get not settling for 3's but you need to read the situation. These are the mental errors and execution that are hurting us.

I still think the arrow is pointing up for this team and will get better with time, experience and drafts and FA additions. It's not a one offseason turnaround.

ALOT of Jaguar Fans doesn't get this. It's the Here and Now for them because of the past ten years. You Must understand that true success will take time. The system and the team is still young.

So, if we're looking for positive points, as the title says, it seems to me that, unlike last year, we have the components necessary to win games. We're just not winning them. We rack up yardage on offense, but fail to score enough points, and we hold the other team down on defense, until we give up that late TD that loses the game for us. We're close. I think we're as good as the Giants, but they're 6-1 and we're 2-5. It's very frustrating, but I think we're close. It comes down to making one more key play per game.

I know this is spin, but if we're looking for positive points, that's one way to spin it.
