Just a couple of years ago he was considered one of the best safeties in the game. I wouldn’t be shocked if he saw the field quite a bit this year.

The ream is doing it’s due diligence and frankly has done a good job of it this season.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

I'll be shocked if he makes the roster, his best days are behind him.

With Andrew Wingard out with the knee injury, Amos is a nice veteran addition.

Not going to lie. A little surprising seeing Gotsis and Buster Brown cut. Hope this means the actual depth has improved this summer.

I am also intrigued to see what Joshua Cephus can do at WR this preseason. Hopefully he sees a ton of action.

I'm sure Brown is as surprised as I am to hear he's been cut.

I have to believe these are respect releases, like we did Patterson.  Gives them a chance to catch on with other teams. If not and they clear waivers practice squad opportunity.

I don't think Montaric Brown is even looking for another team, like the guy in Office Space he's still coming in to work.

Someone please return Buster's red stapler.

But, yeah, it was Gregory Junior, not Montaric Brown who was released - and he will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Junior has the athletic profile to develop into an NFL caliber player. Gotsis lasted a lot longer than I thought he would on the team and that is due to his work ethic and availability. He always gave maximum effort and I respect him for his efforts.

I have a strong feeling Junior ends up on the PS if he clears waivers. Hopefully they can stash him successfully.

Gotsis saw his chances fade when the team added 3 DTs to the mix in the offseason. The fact that a new crop is pushing out an older rotational piece is a good sign of progress as depth is upgraded and young players develop.

I've heard good things said about Tyler Lacy this week in camp reports, and that may be directly related to this Gotsis move.

Doing so this early tells me they wanted to give those guys a legit chance to stick elsewhere, where the numbers game might not squeeze them out. New DC, some guys just aren't gonna mesh I reckon.

How good is it though to be cutting decent guys? Says a bunch about the shape of our roster.

Braswell at the nickel, and I’ve heard nothing but positive things about his camp on 1010. Cisco moving over to SS is a nice move.

Him Jones will need another strong preseason to stick around, but that’s nothing new for him.

The team is overall looking strong, especially up front. Just nervous about the rookie kicker and we probably gonna take a slight dip in production in the return game.

Football is back baby, I’m ready!

I'm ready too!

A few comments on your post:
  • I wouldn't read too much into that preseason depth chart - it will look different week one - I doubt Cisco plays the majority of his snaps at SS and I doubt the nickel spot is set in stone - preseason depth charts always give difference to vets over rookies
  • Tim Jones does have an edge over some of those other receivers because he is pretty good on special teams, I don't know if you could say that for Elijah Cooks
  • Are you aware that we signed  an all pro returner? I'm not worried about the return game.

Added Tashaun Gipson on a 1 year deal. We must not be happy with the safety play.
